Hey everyone, am thinking a lot of you saw Edox's new North Sea
1978, and North Sea 1967 Historical Bronze Edition recently. But
just in case, have some info for you.

The watches pay homage to the deep sea exploration of Norway's
frigid, and icy waters, and even the Inverse Moon Landing. Where
divers dove deep into the waters back in 1978. In addition, the new
watches pay tribute to iconic watches like their Delfin.

The watches have 43mm DLC coated stainless steel, or nice bronze
cases, 320m WR, sapphire crystals, black ceramic rotating bezels,
matte black dials with bold looking numbers, and gold round markers,
and hands with SLN coating, along with inserts. Along with Edox calibre
80A that's based off of the Sellita SW200, and black nylon, or leather
straps too.

Just a few pictures...

Thanks for showing me some more watches I can drool over, Tom. I love Edox’s design aesthetic and the prize of my collection is their Les Vauberts moon phase. Big fan of Edox and hopefully someday I’ll be able to add another one of them to the stable.

My pleasure Dubya. 😄

And by the way, that Les Vauberts moon phase would
be the prize of anyone’s collection ! 🥇🏆 :D Yup, Edox
makes some beautiful watches that’s for sure sir, and in
every style of watch too.

Am so happy you enjoyed this watch, and enjoy the brand
as a whole. THX a bunch for your two cents !!!

I find the all-black model very appealing, I wonder how durable it is?

That one is mean looking Steve, but yes, you really do have
to wonder about the ceramic bezels right?! 😲

I mean maybe Edox has somehow improved the strength,
or something. But we have seen, and heard the horror
stories right?! (y)

Honestly is fun to talk about, but scary to think about. 😄
Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts sir !!!

I like the shape but think I'm too demanding :). I don't like black DLC or bronze watches. 1967 bronze historical edition? Bronze? In 1967? And why oh, why those (tiny) crown guards? Leave them off Edox! This was a spin-off edition of the Grumpy Old Men's thread :D.

Lately, I'm seeing more and more all-black watches from some big brand watchmakers and they are quickly growing on me! :D(y)

Good looking watches. I prefer the 1967.

Love how we all look at these watches differently Robo,
Frans, and Steve. :);)(y) One thing is for sure, both
of these watches, although seemingly classic, have some
nice modern updating.

From the finishes, to different design elements, they kind
of pay respect to the past without repeating an exact look
it seems. Which is kind of refreshing maybe right?! Or
maybe not. It all depends on our levels of grumpiness
on any given day. 😄😀

Honestly hope we get to see more, and more watches
that give unique spins on ideas. ..Both classic like these
do, but also with modern styled watches. The more the
merrier. 😉

So great hearing what you guys thought about these here !!!

I think it's smart of watchmakers to recognize the need for different finishes on the same model watch to appeal to a wide consumer base, this thread pretty much proves that out?
