Hi, everyone.
I am new here, very happy to meet you.
I want to know that if you guys like these vintage pocket watches, for me, i have collected severalvintage pocket watches.
I love these watches, for it has the period feel, with classical design.
Although there are so many nice and advanced electronic watches today, i still have great passion on these vintage pocket watches.
How about your opinions?

Well, ill chime in.
I like Pocket watches pretty well, though i admit , i dont like to carry them.
I have a few arnex swiss pocket watches , that i converted to wristwatches . I love working on the pocket watch movements, as they are huge, and VERY easy to work with.
I really think anyone wanting to work on watches, should start with a pocket watch.
Some older pocket watches are fascinating to look at in their complexity , and you realize that they did that kind of work hundreds of years ago !

I appreciate pocket watches. Some are spectacular works of art as well as cool timepieces. I do not own any pocket watches nor would I carry one. But that doesn't make them any less amazing.

That is a very nice pocket watch. I admire them, but not really for me. I would carry one though if I was a suit-and-tie guy on the regular... but I'm not.

HELLO AND WELCOME Veness0623, ENJOY THE SITE!
this pocket watch looking nice but i dont like with the chain of this pocket watch and I was not a lover of pocket watches but I like the models of pocket watches because they look very interesting and unique
Beautiful timepiece. It's hard for any American to not have the original 992 as a favorite just from a purely historical standpoint.
Beautiful. My great grandfathers pocket watch started my admiration and addiction for watches when I was 5. Pocket watches will always be cherished in my heart.
I love them. I have two myself. 1 Elgin and 1 Hamilton. Both size 18 and from either side of circa 1900. They're fascinating and amazing works
of art. Love yours and welcome to the

Also a vintage pocket watch fan.
My background is retired American RR Engr. We engrs were required to carry the
mechanical pocket watch until 1964 when RR mgmn allowed the quartz watch as the
standard time piece, Primarily the Bulova Accutron wrist model,
The pocket watches I carried were the size 16 Hamilton 992b and 950b. 21 and 23
jeweled movements respectively.
Never considerin Id one day be a Watchfreek I sold both pocket watches and used
the funds to buy a Ball Standard RR wrist watch.
Do the Aussies still have the RR system that has two different gauges? I read trans

I have about 20 or so, Waltham, elgins, a few from italy, byne de lux, and some no names to work on. great hobby if you like working slowly with very small parts. very fascinating to think they built these all by hand and each part was created by hand, no machines and they work so well with very little up keep. used to carry a small version waltham in my pocket for years. but the beauty of Auto wrist watches now you can carry it out in the open.
I'm still kicking myself in the britches for flippin my 2 RR grade pocket watches.
Dumb Dumb Dumb. I feel like "Jack and the bean stalk".
Other day I visited a vintage watch shop. Lo and behold he had 2 of the models
I sold (not the same watches). The Hamilton 992b he wanted $500.00 for. The other
watch the Hamilton 950b he asked $800.00 for.
Add in the cost of a Simmons white or gold chain and you are talking big bucks
for 60 - 65 year old watches.

I do like pocket watches, but do not own any. I've had my eye on G.C.T. Pocket Watches on eBay for some time now, but just can't grab one at a price I can afford. Ultimately, I will own one! I have a bit of an obsession with 24-hour movement! I'd be thrilled to own a Hamilton or Elgin GCT!
