Dive master 500 safety clasp Pin is there a special name for this pin? I need to replace the pin it broke. 1. Where to go to replace the pin for parts prefer black 2. Is this a DIY replace/repair without special tools 3. Can I use the heads off the old pin since this is the PVD/Gunmetal finish. 4. Does somebody make ZULU/NATO strap with a deployment clasp?

The piece you refer to is called a "tang." Unless your replacement is covered by warranty (doubtful), you may want to consider ordering a similar buckle elsewhere. OEM replacements are usually pricey and I'm guessing VSA would place the entire buckle, not just the tang. If you prefer to just use the tang from the new buckle, it's easy to swap.

Your first question was answered. Second question about the zulu straps. No there is no such thing as a zulu/nato with deployant buckle , as it wouldn't be a nato.
You can get a canvas strap with a deployant buckle though.

That link that you provided goes to a buckle that goes on leather or canvas strap. I have the the gunmetal/PVD bracelet. So its called a tang?!? Guess I start looking for that piece. Thank you.

Oh, I see. You're taking about a part on the bracelet clasp, not a strap buckle. That's quite different and unless covered by warranty, may be a decent chunk of money.

crap so who makes a good ZULU that is not stupid crazy expensive? Currently think the Nato strap Company. Lum-Tec seems expensive for the same type of strap! Any suggestions?

I've bought from this vendor in Portugal and his prices are are pretty good and shipping is free. Most of his stuff is available with PVD hardware.

Personally, I'd go with a rubber strap. This Isofrane knock off, sometimes called the Obofrane, has gotten good reviews. The price is right and it's available in several colors and buckle finishes.

My brown dial Divemaster 500 Mechanical only comes on a rubber strap, no bracelet. I've flirted with the idea of getting a pvd mesh bracelet for it.

I have a couple from The NATO Strap Co., very nice for the price.
I like Maratac better though, more comfortable from the start.
You can get them here, shipping is cheaper than countycomm

Also Crown and Buckle have them but I never bought one of theirs. I have bought a couple of leather straps though and they are a reputable company.
