So today is my granddaughter's 7th birthday we are planning to go to the beach and pick out a restaurant on the strand of her choosing. Now today is Sunday and I usually wear my Rolex on most Sundays, while the Rolex has decent water resistance I do not feel comfortable wearing Rolex in this particular area. My JLC is a bit subdued but the water resistance is not the greatest and is not the type of watch you would usually wear at the beach. I do want to wear a watch with a bit of shininess and a some presence, I could wear my Maurice Lacroix Aikon it is a nice watch with good water resistance, and has some shininess to it. Then there is my Aquis which has some shine and wrist presence as well. I thought about my Yema a nice watch with good water resistance but the blue dial watches are in my opinion not as beach-worthy. I could put on my old Omega just a classic watch but it is a bit heavy and not as comfortable as the ML and Oris. Btw, for being over 25 years old the black lacquer numerals on the bezel are still intact quite nice!

How difficult is it for you to choose what watch to wear for an occasion

It's not that difficult because there aren't a ton of cool occasions I go to
like you are going to sir. :giggle:(y)But I usually have been going with very
inexpensive vintage finds in recent years. However, for you on this very
special day, I would go with what 'you' feel is the best. And from just
readng your words, it feels like you are leaning toward that beautiful
ML, or awesome Oris.:cool: So I just say as always to go with your
heart for such a happy day ! 🎈🎉

And I will wish your granddaughter a very very Happy Birthday ! 🎊🎂🧁🍨
As well as thank you for asking for our help like this of course Bob !!!

I don't believe going out to eat requires any WR.
As for my choosing I'd opt for the subdued Yema (as it'll best hide slopped over BBQ sauce).

If you want more bling then remove that funky strap! and soak the Yema in some lemon juice.

And we need some followup pics; Happy Birthday little girl!

We ended up going to the Santa Monica promenade and I wore my JLC because it is my favorite watch. My daughter-in-law took all the pictures except a few that I took. Unfortunately, I didn't get the watch in my selfies just yours truly. I don't look so bad for being almost 70 years of age.

Your daughter-in-law takes great pics Bob, so do you, and yeah, you don't
look a day over 40.(y)Looks like it was a fantastic day, or night, and I
also wanted to say that you have a beautiful family once again ! (y)(y):)
I think I have said that before to you, but I just wanted to say it again in case
you didn't already know. :giggle: Terrific choice with the JLC, and I hope everyone
had a terrific time too ! ..Thanks a ton for the pics, and thank your daughter-
in-law for us as well !!!

Happy Birthday once again to your granddaughter ! 🥳
