Hi Everyone.

I just received a beautiful birthday gift - an orange dial Bulova Devil Diver on a black rubber strap.

The black rubber strap looks great and will serve me well at the gym, but I'm looking to find an alternative strap/bracelet? Have contacted Bulova about getting the 'official' steel bracelet (which comes with some of the other colorways) and i'll likely get one, but I'm interested in the communities advice for alternative options that I can use in the water...perhaps alternative rubber option styles? Or steel options?

Anyway, I'm loving it for now and am looking forward to seeing what thoughts you all have!

Have a great night!

19mm.
Happy Birthday, zig. I think it looks best on the original, I like it better than the bracelet. I looked at various nylon like Tom has up, Zulu, and nato options and checked out some tropic and sailcloth, but I really prefer the fitted style to the case and the textured pattern. I don't think you'll improve the look. I saw one in a shop, it's gone and I haven't seen another. It was green, I like your orange better. The depth of the crystal and those crazy cool indices need to be seen to appreciate. Congrats!

A nice orange ISOfrane or mesh. I do think that a mesh bracelet compliments a watch style like this one has.

Happy birthday!
And what a beautiful watch as a present!
I honestly think it would go well on any wrist attachment device. Thick, soft, semi-shiny black leather with untreated edges would be what I would choose. Maybe even a bund pad...

Canvas/sailcloth, isofrane style (maybe orange), nylon Natos...

Thnx for all of the suggestions. I love all of them and am spoilt for choice! I have wanted an excuse to buy a forstner band and a shark mesh too. So might pop a few of those in the ole shopping cart!

Thnx again everyone.

FYI, I just measure the lug width on mine and it comes in at 20mm, not 19! Anyone confirm the 20mm is correct or should I be looking for 19mm?

Thnx again!

Good question. A 20 is versatile for your other divers and putting on a 19lw works, but the bracelet is a good question. That's a cool bracelet, I don't see it giving, I'd just roll with a 20mm. I thought 19 sounded odd, but that was the spec I pulled to specifically find nothing I preferred. Some say leather's not for divers, who dives anyway? I like the farmer's choice, I like leather on divers.
Let's see what you do when you do do.

Thnx for the advice.

Yes, I’m getting back into leather as I have a lot of bracelets. I don’t dive, but do swim… so my divers to get wet.

I’m toying with the idea of some nylon or rubber natos I’ve seen.

Will definitely post what I end up doing.

The one which comes with features a stainless steel case and bright orange dial with a black supple rubber strap and fine Miyota automatic movement. While accuracy is impressive, averaging +8.4 seconds per day across the review period, some of the 821D's specifications may be contentious with enthusiasts. The majority of its watches have laughably low water-resistances. Many of their designs are downright gaudy. But, look past those issues, and you'll find a solid watch with incredible accuracy that won't break the bank. I must say a great piece of the idea to gift on your birthday

That's a great setup, it looks right at home. How's the lug fit, is there play? This devil will look like a different watch on a strap too, well donez nunz!
I'm looking forward to your take on the Forstner too. Enjoy the new weekender.

Yup, my thoughts exactly ! 😉😀As #four said, that is ultra sharp and
really I don't think you could have picked out a better option for this beauty
honestly ! It was a beautiful watch to begin with, not to mention already on
an epicly cool level to start. 😎So it's amazing that the watch could actually
get any better or any nicer. Yowzers, but it genuinely is kicked up multiple
notches now to tell the truth. (y)(y)In fact between the dial, bezel and
case, and mesh now, I swear there is an honest to goodness Doxa vibe
to the watch now and it rocks !

You hit it out of the park big time here Nunzigam ! ..And should be very
proud of your hard work picking this out because it couldn't be more
awesome. ..A GIANT congrats on the bracelet, watch, and a Happy
Birthday once again !!! :D(y);)

Thnx for the wonderful comments.

Yes Arana it’s a tight fit. I had to squeeze the ends from 20mm down to 19mm but the wearability and feel is fine.

I’m going to try it at on a run today so hopefully it will deal with sweat better than the rubber!

And yes atomictom - a great gift. She has great taste… in watches at least!! (Less so in husbands )
