When I purchased my Seiko Sarg009 I promised my wife that, that was the last purchase for 2015.

Well she's in Chicago for a couple of weeks and told me she lost $400 at a casino there last night.

I thought that it would only be fair (to me) if I reciprocated by purchasing a new watch, which I'm not telling her about, since she has lost track of them already.

Anyways yet another Seiko is on the horizon, this time the Japan model new Black Monster. It arrives from Amazon tomorrow.

I don't know why, but I started thinking of the TV show "Married With Children" after reading this...

Damn fine addition to your collection, Chazman!

Chazman:
If the BM you ordered is anything close to the original I've had since the BM's
(I hate that abbreviation) first came out, you'll be a happy camper.

Congrats, great choice.

That'll be a great addition to anyone's collection. I love my first gen Black Monster but those fangs on youre are more appealing. I don't blame you.

On Tuesday, I told my wife I was done buying after I purchased a case for Orca from #four, cus I have nothing to sell and we made deal (before wedding) that I can't use our savings for my watches but I couldnt resist a deal on Wednesday night while doing my nightly eBay routine. Oh well !

I can certainly relate to breaking the wifey watch promise! When I got my 10-watch storage case I promised the wifey that I'll only get 10 watches. that was when I only had about 6 or 7 pieces. Now I have 9, and I'm eyeing a Hamilton Pan Europ in addition to a few other ones.

Anyway, congratulations on the acquisition of such a beautiful and quite popular watch!

Congrats Chazman - awesome piece!

We were at the mall today and I think I was able to convince my wife with the analogy that my fascination with watches is the same as her interest in shoes ... I think it worked ... I think ...

It’s here, first impressions? Much more solid and surprisingly “Blingy” then I expected. Fit my 8” wrist with room to spare (three more micro adjustment holes) and wears very comfortably.

Very interesting bracelet, with an end link that is 20mm when in the lugs, but steps out to a 22mm links. Very unique and looks as if it will be a lot easier to take off and on then the average end links.

As fo the Bling factor, well this watch does have some shine to it, but most of the polished bling is on parts of the watch and bracelet that aren’t really exposed to getting scratched or dinged.

Hacks and hand winds similar to the 6R15 Seikos I have, doesn’t have the 50 hrs. power reserve, since it doesn’t have the improved proprietary main spring like the 6R15.

Looks wise the closest watch I have owned that is similar is the Boschette Reef Ranger. Never cared for the bracelet on the Ranger, too thick and wide, felt out of proportion. Fit and finish on the Monster is much better then the Ranger, which , if you took off the bracelet showed and unfinished case.

The Ranger has a Top Grade Sellita SW200 movement, and I am sure that contributed to it costing over three times the price of the Monster.

Will report back on the accuracy of the 4R36 movement in a couple of days.

So far Seiko has once again surprised me with a solid, well finished watch, this one costing only $240.

Looks terrific Chazman !!! :smile-thumb: All of the nooks, and crannies in these watches are extraordinary when you think about it, and I think a big part of the bling, and reflections you see. :) It's a case, and bezel design that really is something special, and it together with the dial, and beautiful bracelet make it beyond cool ! Enjoy sir ! Big congratulations to you !
