I put the Alpinist on the suede Cronos band. I think it looks pretty good.

I also wanted a strap that looked like original Seiko strap it came with so I ordered a Dassari croc embossed leather strap with quick release pins from Strapsco.

I ordered a 20mm strap

I put the Seiko strap on my Cronos watch. It's actually more comfortable on this watch, maybe because it is bigger than the sarb017

Ooh nice True, these straps, and combinations rock !

One second I feel like the watches look best with one strap, and then the
next moment am thinking the total opposite sir. o_O 😄Seriously, think that
both the watches, and the straps tend to make their counterparts look great,
and that there will be a lot of head turning going on no matter what combo
you choose True. Without the straps, these watches have an extremely
rick look, and feel to them. But then with the straps, they really do reach
new heights. Keep on enjoying sir, and HUGE congrats on the StrapsCo
here too !!!

Don't mention it sir, and yes, I believe Seiko is still making this one. (y)
They have green, black, and white variations. Not to mention those
Baby Alpinists you showed not too long ago. 🙂

Have the link to the lineup of the Prospex line right here for you True.
You'll see the green model, and the other ones in there as well...

Lol,thanks Tom. I'm getting alot of practice changing straps and buckles with these watches :) Putting the bronze buckle on the Seiko calfskin strap was harder that putting the stainless steel buckle on the suede Cronos strap.

FYI Amazon is getting more Seiko sarb017 Alpinists on January 1st.

😀Don't mention it.(y) Yes, can imagine you have been getting great at changing
up the straps, and not only that, figuring what looks great too. Nice work !

Have really not done too much with strap changing on this end. Other than adding
in some NATO straps in the last couple years.

Want to thank you for the cool look, as well as the info on the Alpinist.

Thanks a ton True !!!

The color swap looks good!
Thanks! That is the extra strap that came with my Cronos watch. The color is Khaki. The watch came with 2 straps but only one buckle so now it has the stainless steel Seiko buckle on it.

Thanks Tom! Just read on the The Seiko Alpinist Appreciation Society Facebook page that the Seiko Museum in Japan said that the first Laurel Alpinist watches were made in December 1959.It was previously believed that they were first made in 1961.
