After joining this Forum I came to know about many brands that I have never see and many of those brands are simply amazing. One of these are Bali and Helson brands but as some of you might know by now that my knowledge is very very weak when it comes to technical stuff and accuracy of the movement so I want to see what you guy, guys with good knowledge and experience with watches think about these two brands.
Thanking you guys in advance for all the help.

I have only had experience with Helson and I am impressed. They use high quality movements like top grade ETA's. I would think Bali Hai quality wise is similar.

Nate, thats not true. Bali Hai has only produced about 4 watches total I think, there latest being the C, a quartz chrono which is the Helson Buccaneer case(catalog).

For the most part, they both are catalog case watches. Both you use good movements though and have good finishing for the price paid.

Helson seems to pump out alot more models though, I think Bali Hai does it as a side job.

Correct me if i am wrong but are you guys syaing that both watches a almost the same in movement quality? Okay if you were me and you are going to spend $800-$1500, which brand would come to your mind, keeping in mind i am thinking that if i am going to spend this much why not spend it one something that i know is peice of art or close to it. Now i know that the $800-$1500 is not much but still. SO what do you uys things?

Not sure what your question is. $800-$1500 is a huge range. $1500 I would start considering a used Breitling Ebel or Tag Heuer. In the $800 range any of the micro's fill the bill depending on which appeals to you the most. Between Bali Hai and Helson I would go with Helson.

i don't think i'd be looking at micros in that price range. the companies CJ mentioned above along with Longines, Seiko and Glycine should be considered IMO

For a cap of 1500$. I would look for a Pre owned Sinn U1 or Breitling Seawolf.
If you want to spend a 1000$. Try SAS and talk to Graeme on the forum here. You be glad you did. Money well spent.

I've owned several Bali Hai's and Helsons. Helson leaves me indifferent kinda meh... Bali Hai watches excite me more design-wise for some reason but everyone has different tastes. I also like that Chris is in the US in case of after sale issues and need to return the watch.they are different companies, Chris has a career outside of watches and loves the hobby, designs cool and fun watches. Helson pumps ous new models and re-issues new versions of prior ones often. They both make large divers.
The latest BH C uses the same case as the Buccaneer, I owned both and quality is on par, made in the same place. I much prefer the BH C. Personal taste again. Something perhaps intangible turns me off about Helson... Can't put it into words. But I'll say that I had an issue with my Helson Skindiver and Peter made it right and did so promptly in spite of the distance and time change. Both offer great CS.
Comes down to taste IMHO and what you are looking for. Keep in mind that most BH models are sold out so selection will be slimmer than with Helson even used as BH watches come up rarely and sell quickly when they do.

I must say this posts confused me and didn't quite get your question, sorry. That said ill echo what was said above by my WIS buddies: for $1500 I'd go do something better whether used or new...
In no particular order... Korsbek made by Fricker in Germany, Used Omega or Breitling, Anonimo...

And even at 700-1000 I'd open my options to Benarus, Lum-Tec, Zinex/Zixen, SAS, Stowa etc...
And for less the awesome Seiko Sumo at ~$500

Oh and I forgot the awesome Hamilton and VSA watches.
I love my Swiss made ETA2892 VSA dive master 500 which cost me less than the Asian made Boutique you are looking at :)

Great options guys, specially the SAS.... As for my taste goes, its very diverse as i like both busy dials and simple one too. That being said i look for watches are unqiue or the brands that not every Tom, dick and harry has. Lets see if the SaS excites me :).... That Bali hai that is up for sale is very very nice but so is the heilson black-beard, i like the pirate mark one the dial and one the back-case

No question I could be wrong but in my experience (2 bali hais and 3 helsons) the balis are bigger, heavier, and chunkier. Not saying that is good or bad, just my experience. I actually like the Tortuga, a smaller (43?) and lighter helson, best of all.
