The BLACK-WAVE is named after the 1953 NATO BLACK-WAVE military exercise in the Mediterranean. This premium model is essentially the Arctos NATO field watch rendered in stunning black, right down to its stainless steel bracelet and case, both black PVD coated.

The case of "Black Wave" is rendered in deep black by a special metalworking technique called "PVD". The black produced by the special process helps to prevent reflection from light and prevent discovery of Special Forces due to the reflection from the watch. The watches rendered in this black by PVD are remarkable and unique watches not only for military use but also for general use.
PVD is an abbreviation for "Physical Vapor Deposition". PVD is a high-quality coating process, which attaches atoms on the face with a layered form by blowing out metal atoms in the manner of billiards, such that high-energy atoms, such as argon, and their particles, strike against metals, such as aluminum, in a high vacuum.
A splash of yellow on the second hand and the highly visible, large white numerals that glow in the dark complete an eye-catching design that goes well with both formal and casual clothing.
The top-grade Swiss automatic movement and the high-quality German manufacture and refined finish, plus all the extras, such as the date display at the 6 o'clock position, sapphire glass, luxury box, etc., make this a perfect gift for a special person, especially for someone involved in military affairs

$1700 seems steep for a diver like this....they are nice but I'm not sure they are that nice.

I think they have some interesting designs and their watches are well made. In my opinion, they are overpriced.
