Hi there! Do you know any (reasonably priced) automatic or handwind watches which are similar to the Stuhrling Nemo?

here's a picture:

I do not like the "see thru" effect of the dial

...thanks a lot!

Thanks! Fraidy from Stuhrling just responded me in an email I wrote earlier to this thread that no "non see thru" options are available for the Nemo collection.

I actually noticed that Stuhrling uses very similar dials on many different models. So that dial seemed to be a strategic design decision. From my European standpoint, Stuhrling could add to this dial (which certainly has its fans) a more sportive design in order to attract Europeans (in Europe see thru is in general not perceived well as too many low quality watchmakers overexploitet this design) and more dynamic-design oriented Americans.

I would regard, design-wise, Lucien Piccard as a similar watch, though quality may differ. Yet, as both have this see-thru look, no much variation seems to exist in the market for affordable octagon-shaped mechanical watches.....

just my two Eurocents...

You can also check out the Apocalypse, Apocalypse XT Skeleton...and if you prefer a bracelet watch, try the Super Apocalypse XT....a 49mm monster!!! I have posted some pictures below for you of my Super Apocalypse. Just an FYI....I am a big guy....I have an 22cm wrist...or a bit over 8.5".... and am 6'6" tall...almost 2 meters. So I wear mainly 46-53mm watches...the bigger they are the more I like them. Hope this helps.

Hi! It also has an asian movement, I do not know which one.

A shop where the brand is available (I bought it from private) is here: http://www.chronotac.com/

43mm, so it is smaller than the Stuhrling

the rubber is great very smooth, excellent!

No-Screw-down crown, I do not whether this is a disadvantage in comparison to the other design alternatives.

Lume is only on the hands

Keeps good time, currently 6-8sec's.

130 gramms.....for a 43mm watch with rubber strap quite substantial.
