Municipal where I am is purely volunteer with the exception of the paid chief position. I’m not on the local crew but have responded and helped them out a few times on scenes.Thanks for what you do saving lives!
What's it like being a firefighter where you are? I know firefighters have to keep in great shape, I see the local firefighters in the grocery where I shop, and I thanks them every time I see them! My 82-year-old mother breaks into tears thanking them for what you do!
Well, that was before Covid and since then she has mostly stayed at home for over a year by choice...
At 82 better save than sorry!
I’m an industrial firefighter at the chem plant I work. Different tactics. Different hazards.
Industrial and municipal are both just scary business. Takes huge balls.
