An interesting Rolex Explorer II Look Alike

This is a interesting Rolex Explorer II look alike using the Swiss Ronda 515 Quartz GMT movement from ADDIESDIVE. The factory lists the case size as 39mm while I measure it as 40mm. It is very close to the size of my first generation Rolex GMT Master from the 1960s and 2mm smaller than the current Rolex Explorer II which lists as 42mm case size. Still by modern standards a moderate size watch. The Ronda GMT movement differs from the Japanese GMT movements I am familiar with in that the 24 hour hand adjustment is smooth and continuous. This allows it to be set to any time zone including the odd ones like India and a few others which are 1/4 or 1/2 hour off standard time zones. A better arrangement in my opinion and handy for some travelers. Rated for 200 meters water resistance and it includes a screw down crown. The bezel is fixed so does not rotate so it is not a dive watch but the same so far as I know as the Explorer II. Band links are solid machined stainless steel and in a Rolex Oyster design pattern, 20m wide at the lugs and 16mm wide at the buckle. Current Amazon price is about $76.30 including a 15% discount check box so quite a bargain for a stainless steel GMT watch which seems to be quite well machined and finished and with a Swiss quartz GMT movement.

That’s cool how they kind of combined both Rolex and Tudor together with
this one sir. o_O:cool: So you get two looks of two watch companies, but also
an entirely different watch for a ridiculously good price ! :D You know what
that is right?! 😉..It’s ridiculously cool of course ! :giggle:

And Addiesdive seems like an very cool brand, so thank you for another
awesome report, as well as look !!!

Rolex does not use snowflake hands. But yes, the price is truly incomprehensible. Not my cup of tea because my loathing for the snowflake hands knows no bounds :)

Indeed, the Snowflake hand is from Tudor..

In terms of price, their Submariner copy is even less expensive (42.20 USD):

In terms of the movement in the movement in the GMT, well, there is Swiss Made and "Swiss Parts", as described in following article. I would venture the movement in the GMT watch is a "Swiss Parts" version : https://calibercorner.com/ronda-caliber-515-24h/ and as the article says, this movements can be found online for between 11.95 and 19.95 USD and has 1 jewel. It might be an ok movement, but in reality it's nothing to write home about....
