Hey everyone, have you had time to see Alpina's Seastrong Diver Gyre Automatic
2021 Editions by chance?

These watches have either 36mm, or 44mm cases made of recycled materials,
sapphire crystals, 300m WR, a steel black PVD unidirectional bezel with blue
PVD inserts, black dial with SLN hands, and markers, and blue accents, cool
straps, and caliber AL-525, which is based off of the SW200-1.

Some pictures for you...

Monochrome, and Alpina with much more...

I like that!
Great colors and design. Kinda like a Seiko Samurai.

Colours look nice, but according to the website the cases are made of recycled plastic and fibre glass. That doesn't sound terribly durable against knocks, chips, hard wearing etc. I've worked with fibreglass in the past, the normal resins can be very resistant, but they break/shatter rather than bend.

So, essentially they're selling what is essentially a G-Shock-esque case with a Sellita movement for the price of €1'395, I think I could find a more robust dive watch...

Nothing you haven't heard me say before. I LOVE THIS WATCH !!! But, not the price.:( I mean C'mon man. We're talking recycled plastic here. Nice to see, much like Oris has done for years, some of the proceeds are going to a worthy cause.
I have the more traditional older Seastrong Heritage Diver in stainless steel PVD rose tone and leather. Bought it used for $500. Came in a wooden box with a tropic strap and spring bar tool. This piece was made before Citizen acquired Alpina.:(
I absolutely love the new case. But not for that coin. I have a feeling, that the prices on these will drop like a rock too. So, I'll wait it out.
Meanwhile, a little comparison... This watch also runs the SW200-1. Has a boxed sapphire crystal and an internal bezel with two locking screw down crowns.:)

Mike, that Samurai comparison is a great one ! Am totally seeing it
now, and the colors add an almost Batman-like vibe kind of too ! 😎

And FB, thanks so much for the insight on the fiberglass, and how
it may not be as durable as we are thinking. 😉For the cost, you
want to know your watch is going to stay in one piece, and not have
to worry about pieces shattering, or splintering. 😲

Forza, I think that is what makes the classic Seastrong so attractive. 😀
I mean you don't have to worry about pieces coming off of it if you
were to knock it around. And it just looks incredible in steel ! 🏆Like
some vintage super compressor with an attitude. Love it !

Also love hearing what you guys have to say, so thanks once again !!!
