I originally made this trip back in June, but have not had the time to resize all of the photos to upload here.

First, here what the "paysage" looks like in the Vallée de Joux:

Just a typical Swiss "Chalet"

The Valley is located on top of the Jura mountains and includes a rather sizeable lake, evidence of which can be found here. This little village is called Le Pont, and is located at the eastern-most point of the lake.

Here is Le Sentier, home to a watchmaker you may be familiar with:

Just down the road from JLC you will find another famous brand:

It was hard to get any good photos as I was not able to get near to the building (construction blocked the entire road at this point, right in front of the factory).

Wandering a little further down the road, you come to the village of Le Brassus:

Some of the architecture is very interesting:

Just outside Le Brassus you have this building:

Which is just one building that belongs to a very well respected watch maker. If I am not mistaken, this whole building is only their Logistics centre:

Once again, construction made it near impossible to get a good photo....

Following down the main road, you see their main factory

After Audemar Pigeut, you have to turn around, otherwise you will hit the border with France within on few kms.

The road then takes you back towards Le Pont, but on the southern side of the lake. The next village you come across is L'Orient:

L'Orient is home to these guys just outside the village:

Bregeut's building is enormous, it extends far to the left and then again behind the building in the photo. Kind of hard to show it as many of the building are not accessible unless you are an employee.

Some more scenery shots as you travel from L'Orient back toward Le Pont:

Here is a shot of the mountain that hangs over Le Pont:

Not far from Le Pont, the road splits, if you take a right, you end up heading towards the Mollendruz pass:

Here is a giant concrete reinforced pill box, left over from the second world war. This normally would have house some quite large guns / artillery to deal with tanks coming down the road. This is blocked off and you cannot enter the pill box. Some local farmers had placed a political sign asking voters not to ban all pesticides in an upcoming referendum.

There is ALWAYS a truck in front of you.....

Here you are still rather high up, but the lake you see is Lac Léman (Lake Geneva to some). You can see the Alps in cloud in the background.

The Farmers create "Farm Art" to celebrate that the two initiatives to ban pesticides were rejected, the Merci is to thank the population for having voted for the farmers.

This garage has had this fiberglass replica Lamborghini on top of their garage for as long as I can remember. It used to be red, but after 20 years, that faded to a light pink, so they repainted it yellow... I wonder how long the yellow will last?

And here is Hublot, located in an industrial zone in L'Asse, an area just outside the town of Nyon. The mountains you see in the background are the Jura, on the other side of those mountains is the Vallée de Joux (sort of).

Hublot is surrounded by high-security fencing and has an armed guard standing at the entrance who decides if you get to enter or not. It is odd that they have this in place when the security up on the Vallée is much more relaxed, even though it is closer to the French border.

Man oh man, it's been really something sharing in on these trips
in the last couple of days !! 😵😵Yesterday we had Frans taking
us along with him to see his brother in Belgium. (y)(y)And now
you are taking us on a tour of Switzerland, along with some of
the legendary watchmakers there. 😀😮It's tremendously fun
to see, and like I said, in back to back days no less. ..Honestly
feels like were on the vacations with you guys.

You know what's great too FB?! Is I think that many of us almost
think of these destinations as being unreal. Or are places we will
never have a chance to see. So it's a real real joy seeing all of this.
Thanks so much for taking us along !!!

Thanks! Just trying to give people an eye on where their watches come from.

If the weather is good, this weekend I'll venture to Geneva and shoot some photos!
