Three weeks ago I purchased this Croton watch via Amazon:
Croton # CA301157BUBL
The price was right, and looked like a nice watch. I have had no previous
experience with Croton watches, and it looks like I may have made the
mistake of basing my decision too much on the photograph. In the photo
the face of the watch says "AUTOMATIC." And so that is what I took it to be.
When I first got it I set the time and wore it for a few days, then set it aside
for a week. When I picked it up earlier I expected to have to set the day and
time wear it so it would run. I was surprised, however, to see that it was
still running, showing the correct date and time. That didn't seem right. So
googled this watch and I find that what I have is a quartz watch that says
it's an automatic. So I went back to the Amazon page for the watch and
read the entire thing, and sure enough, it says it's a quartz watch. Yeah,
I know, I should have read it closed the first time.
So, I guess my question to the Croton fans here, is what's up with putting
automatic on the dial of a quartz watch? I have seen other Croton watches
that I may have been interested in buying, but if such deceptions are a typical
practice for Croton, I may not be making any more purchases of their product.
