How many of you guys still wear them? I have quite a few of these size pieces and as I have said before, I am fortunate that I have an average wrist that can wear the smaller pieces as well as the larger pieces and neither look out of place. But when it comes to purchasing new time pieces, 44mm is the absolute minimum that I will consider and no larger than 52mm.

As far as anything under 40mm, if I own it, I don't wear it. Just too small at this point.

Again................... Your thoughts??

I own a couple of smaller watches that get on the wrist from time to time (not regularly). I am not a 50+ guy so they don't seem so small to me. I have one that looks great when I wear a suit (not often) and one that is a great watch to wear as a beater when I'm working in the yard or around the house and don't want to kill a nice piece. I don't think I'll buy anything that small again but I still wear the ones I have.

PS I just put a new crystal on my Swiss Army (38mm) beater for $25 to breath new life into it. I can wear a beater but not one that has a really scratched crystal.

For a time I fell into the "40mm is too small" type of thinking. Fortunately it was just a phase. I have come to realize that my TAG and my 40mm Pro Divers look great and are fun to wear.

I dont wear much in the way of 50mm anymore...not that I dont like them, they are just not practical for me to wear at work is all.

I gave my wife 3 of the 40mm that I had and the other 3 to friends and family... I think I still have about 3 or 4 43mm and the only one of those I ever wear is my 43mm Pro Diver Blue Mop w/Diamonds... 48mm is my cut off.

My wrists are 6 1/4 in. so I prefer smaller watches. I've seen the trend of watches getting larger and it just doesn't look right to me. The purpose for me to wear a watch is for a nice looking, convenient, and comfortable way to tell the time. A watch that is 2 inches in diameter and half an inch thick to me seems rediculous so I have chosen not to follow the trend and I stick with what I like, anything between about 38mm and 45mm.

For me, 42 is generally as low as Ill go and the sweet spot is really 43-46 without looking clownish or too in your face..WHen I wear my SAN 7750 thats as big as I have now and likely will ever get. It borders on clownish but I still dig it.

I had a Ball World Timer which i think was 40, but played a bit larger so it really depends as based purely on size, some watches really appear diff then others.

I have a couple that I wear.

40mm does not frighten me.

Heck, I even bust out the old Movado now and then. :%

I have seen that many people here prefer much larger watches than me, but I don't see it as criticism when anyone says that they prefer larger or that my watches are too small for their wrists. It's all a matter of preferance. I do wish that some of the newer designs by Invicta and SO were available slightly smaller.

I'm the lone (so far) owner of an under 40mm. It's the solid 14K Omega bumper auto (1950). I used to wear it, but I just can't anymore. Too small, but I can't sell it... which is weird as I WEAR my watches.

To me, the Seiko Monster is a bit small, as is the Accutron Gemini, but I will wear them in the right setting. OTOH, if I found a SMOKIN' deal on the right ML or Ulysse Nardin, JLC, VC, etc. I would most CERTAINLY wear it for special occaisions. Dress watches are OK with me down to 40mm, but a sport watch under 44mm probably wouldn't get much wrist time unless it was VERY special...

I own one Russian Diver that I wear, the Unitas; and occasionally I feel like wearing the SAS. The SAN's are getting a rest, but not for sale. Someday I expect they'll stop being so ubiquitous and be less boring...

Perfect size range for me is 44-48mm, but as Eric stated, some play bigger than they are. My client's Navitimer had an exceptionally impressive wrist presence and was like 41.5mm (but that's a grail for me).

. . . some watches carry off a 40mm size well, others don't. All in the design for me. I drive a big car to make up my other , , , uh , , , , shortcomings . . . so I'm good with a smaller watch . .. . .

Hey Guys! Thanks for the responses. Alot of diversified opinions, but all are valid. It's whatever floats your boat that counts. Me? If I like a watch and it is 44mm or over, I'm gonna try and purchase it if it's within my means, but as I stated earlier, I still wear all of my 40mm that I like with no reservations whatsoever. The ones that I don't wear, will either get gifted or sold in all probability.
