1974 Stutz Blackhawk. Length: 228 inches, weight: 5000 Lbs.

P.S. I'm speechless but just about the fact that someone actually 'designed' this car......

That was a car whose customer was in the less-than-one-percentile category ... I remember auto magazines ripping these to shreds. The timing was terrible, as they introduced them when fuel prices were skyrocketing and all the huge luxo-barges were beginning to face the reality of potential extinction, and/or reinvention, which inevitably meant downsizing.

Thank you guys, (still hoping for women to participate) for making this thread a success! What a cars! They depict an era long gone. I even have searched for a car rental company over here that has those barges available and yes, there are some. But you cannot drive yourself (driver included), the hourly tariffs start at close to 100 Euro (with a minimum of two hours) and that is without fuel. No go. No fun left. They are mainly in the 'bachelor party and wedding' category.

Driver included?! No fun indeed. We do still see these cars around, but usually only at the local auto shows during the summer months.

Here's a 1967 Mercury Park Lane fastback:
