Default New Bulova American Clipper Automatic

Did anyone see Bulova's new American Clipper Automatic recently?

This watch is a limited edition being made especially for Macy's. With
specifications like a 39mm stainless steel, or steel gold PVD case,
30m WR, curved mineral crystal, black, or blue dials with Dauphine
sword hands, nice markers, and numbers, black, or brown leather
straps, along with Miyota 8215 automatic.

A few pictures...

Timezone, and Bulova with more everyone...

Very minimalistic approach. Has that vintage feel to it. I'm a big Bulova fan. But even I'm trying to find the value here. Can't always go by MSRP in retail but this watch should be going for half of what it's listed for. Hope it goes on sale for Black Friday...

I love the looks of the Blue Dial, but that 8215 movement is crap for that price, a 9015 would be a green light.

Why is Bulova going on the Cheap with the movements?

Because they can. Why? Unlike many of us, the general watch buying audience only see 'selfwinding' on the dial but haven't got a clue what's inside the case. And they probably don't care either. As long as it keeps reasonable good time, has an acceptable (40 hours) autonomy and keeps ticking, it's all right. But that's only my take on this of course.

Nice looking watch. Black dial with stainless case would be nice too.
Heard and read a bit about the 8215 second hand stutter. Do these movements still do that?

You're forgetting who owns Bulova these days... Bulova is a second Citizen now... And who owns Miyota movements ? Starting to make sense now ???

Macys has tons of sales. Got mine at the Friends and Family sale. 20% off and another 25% off that. That makes it a great deal. I'll take the Miyota over an NH35 any day. Easy enough to hack manually and since I wear my watch dial up,I don't care what it looks like.

Ooh nice Incablockhead, and I swear your picture makes these look
like a million $ honestly. ..So you definitely got a great deal !

Had forgotten about all of the sales, along with extra coupons Macy's
has for people to use. Very cool ! Holy cow, could stare into that
majestic dial all day long really, and the case, and markers are really
neat too.

Even the way the hands, and markers mirror each other with the design
is terrific ! ..BIG congratulations, and thanks so much for the pic !!!

Thank ALL of you guys honestly !!!

I have had the complete opposite experience, I have an older model Bulova with an open heart dial.and two invictas with this movement and none of them truly hacked you had to back turn the crown to stop the second hand to hold it in place. None of these watches with that movement were running better then +-15 spd.

All of my NH35/4R36 Seiko movements in my Turtles, and Invicta are running COSC accuracy and these all.are true Hack/Handwind movements!

For the price you paid I'M tempted, beautiful looking watch!
