I would give both watches away....one to Arnie and one to Rick (CT).
Arnie without question is one of the most selfless and generous people I know. He gives from the heart and expects nothing in return. His positive disposition is constant, he is a superhero.

I would give the other to Rick; he inspires me with his grace and humility under very difficult circumstances. In spite of his battle he is fiercely strong and a living example to all of us.

One additional note to the rules above in Post #1. This contest is for ANYONE anywhere that you know and would give a watch to. It could be a friend, family member, or just someone you know in passing each day. Just explain why you feel this person is deserving of receiving a watch from you.

Despite the fact that I won the last SA Give away...I would like to enter this one too. I would give both the watches away also.....One to my buddy Sportscenterisnext....Jeff....he has been a big help to me during this time. He has helped me ask my doctor specific questions about medications that my doctors had not offered me to help the pain and extreme discomfort I have been in. He has raised my spirits on days when I was feeling really bad and depressed. Plus...his avatar cracks me up everytime I see it...the kid reading the sports page on the toilet!!!! Reminds me of me...uhhh...only I am a bit larger!!!lol

The other watch I would give to one of my wife's co-workers. He has helped us around the house to do odd jobs that I cannot do anymore. He has also helped us move when we lost our house....and has just been there for us whenever we needed assistance of anykind....and never asked for anything in return.

One of my neighbors, who has become good friends with my wife and I, loves watches watches. He is someone who used to have a lot but lost a lot of money in the past few years with the economy and has also had ongoing job problems. Due to this he has had to live very frugally and literally never spends one penny beyond taking care of his family and immediate needs. There is nothing at all wrong with that and many people are in the same situation and do not have the extra funds to buy a bunch of watches or anything "extra" in the hard recent years.

Well even with his financial situation he has never complained or been depressed about his situation. He is always upbeat and positive. He clearly is still totally into them, reading about them, learning more. I know he wishes he had more then the 2 lower end watches he currently owns. I would give the watch to him because I have seen how spending time talking about watches with me makes him happy, even if he does not have the $$ to buy a lot of them. Any watch would be special to him.

I'm not sure this will count and I may have related this story recently but, here goes.

I've done this several times.

The latest time was a friend at work.

He had broken his wrist watch about a year earlier, was always saying "I've got to get a new watch one of these days." He always checks my wrist to see what I'm wearing (it's usually not a real expensive piece for work) and comments about it. One day I had an Invicta diver on and he said "I like that one, I'd like to get one just like it". Well I took it off and let him try it on, it fit, so I told him to just keep it. He wears it all the time.

I laughed when he told me that somebody said it was a nice watch. He told them, it's not a watch, it's a time piece!

I would gift one if not both to Rob (lovemywristwear). I know a watch can't replace his wife, but I would hope it would brighten his day.

I would give a watch to my good friend Thomas H. He is an American Airlines retiree who has cancer and is going through chemotherapy. He is a member of my AA group. He reminds me of some of the coaches and teachers I had when I was in Jr. High. He's been sober over a year and I have grown to love this gentle giant.

I would give the watch with the largest numerals to my dad. He recently turned 84, and his sight isn't too good these days, but he has a huge passion for watches.
We get together a couple of times a week to shoot the breeze and take apart old watches to see what makes them tick...
I know he'd love a new watch and I surely love all of mine!!!

Thanks for having this contest.

I would give one of the watches to a very good friend of mine. His son has Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS). He started a non profit organization to bring awareness to the syndrome and other neurological problems. He also is a foster parent for up to four kids at a time. He has adopted two of the foster children and raises them as his own. We donate our time to building his website and try to help out in fundraisers when we can. He is an amazing person and I would like to give him a watch in appreciation of all that he does.

I would give the watch to my friend Caryn. She is always there when I need to talk to someone. She is very sweet and loves watches. Actually, she really got me into watch collecting. I went to her place a few years back and say her watch box with 6 watches in it. Now every time I get a new one I always bring it to her to show her. A couple of years ago her car got hit my a 18 wheeler and has not been able to work. She is on a very limited budget so she cant buy any new watches. I would love to surprise her with a watch.

Actually, I would add the second watch to the pot during our next Texas Holdem game. I've done it before and has made for a great game. The winner of the last watch I added to the pot wears it daily.

I already have.

A friend I only know from E-mails and posts on Watch Forums had come upon a tragedy. His Fiancee had a terrible car accident and needed extensive hospitilization that resulted in some huge medical bills. To help cover the extensive costs he sold off his beautiful collection. I was sad that he had to, yet proud that he did...not wanting to see him without a watch becuase I know how much he loves this hobby I sent him this watch. It was a watch that he had always spoke highly of, he seemed to appreciate it more than I did so I sent it to him as a reminder that things would get better. She has made a phenomenal recovery.

I have a teenage brother who my parents adopted. I am approximately 28 years older than him.I would give him my Invicta Pro Diver with the valjoux 7750 movement. A couple of years ago, I bought him the Pro Diver with an automaticJapanese movement for Christmas. It is the same exact watch as the 7750 (all silvertone, black dial), except the movement and the size. Being a teenager, he really has no appreciation for timepieces. He just wears it as bling. He doesn't even wind it.

Since I have no children, I would like to pass my watch collection down to him. I am hoping that one day I can help him find the passion that I have for mechanical watch movements and for watches in general. I think it would be cool to give him the same watch he has, but larger (as he gets larger), and with a fine swiss made chronograph movement. And if the gift is wasted on him, oh well. It is only an Invicta.

If I were to win these watches, I would give the Invicta to my older brother Tom. As a matter of fact, I gave him this same watch, except it had the beautiful blue dial, for Christmas. I think that he'd get a kick out of having a black one to match his blue model. And I'd tell him that he would then have a pair of watches to match the colors of the bruises that he inflicted on me when he would pound me when we were young! All is forgiven now, thank God, but I still rub it in from time to time. It keeps him humble.

Tom is now a really good brother to me. He is always there for me, through good times and bad. His only fault is that he doesn't appreciate nor does he understand my obsession with watches. For this second reason, I'm hoping that by giving him the Invicta, itwould help to get him hooked as well. Then we'd have so much more to share in our lives. It would bring us closer together. At least that's the plan.

Finally, Tom's girlfriend just broke up with him yesterday. He was so hopeful and encouraged that this women was THE ONE. He is taking this split very, veryhard and I am worried about him. I'm hoping that if he was to receive a gift from someone who really cares about him, he'll maybe heal a little bit quicker. And hopefully, he'll realize that he's really a great guy and that the split up will be her loss and not so much his.

As far as the Swiss Legend Maverick goes, I would keep that one for myself, for two reasons. First, because it is used. Secondly, because I don't have one in my collection!
