Default Julio1988 - Buyer Beware!!

I purchased an AVI-8 Hawker Harrier II from the recent listings by Julio1988. Among other details, the post described the watch as:

* lightly used
* snap caseback
* quartz movement...keeping accurate time

At no point in the listing was there mention of any trouble with or damage to the watch to be concerned about.

The day I received the watch, I took it to a local jeweler to check out a rattle heard within the watch. I suspected it to relate to the inner rotating bezel, and likely a minor adjustment. When he went to open the case back, he discovered that it was not the correct case back for the watch. Looking up the codes on the case back revealed that it came from a Japanese steel watch of the variety that sell for about $10 in novelty shops.

The case back shows signs of force being applied to get it to grab onto the case. Apparently, when that was not successful, the case back was glued onto the case. The excess glue dried into the case seat for the proper case back and other open spots within the case.

We had no less than 6 Question/ Response contacts via private message during a 24 hour period spanning two days. Subsequent to receiving the watch, I have sent 4 messages to the seller notifying him of the condition of the watch and requesting a resolution. I have yet to receive any response.

There is a decent history of watches being sold by Julio1988. I found no feedback that gave me pause to conduct business with him. The dollar amount I spent is admittedly small, and it could have been an honest oversight in noticing that the case back had been replaced - although I doubt it. Regardless, non of it would excuses the his disappearance at the mention of anything being less than satisfactory.

My dispute of charges with PayPal now begins.

NOTE: For some reason, I cannot attach images at the moment.
Once I get that resolved, I will attach pics of the watch as received.
