How far have you gone for food you wanted. The trip was only for food.

Maybe a restaurant that you had to have.

1 hour, 2 hours, More?

Drove about 300miles to a Pizza joint by Ohio State to hang out one time. I can't remember if it was for the Pizza or the drunk college chicks. Either way...................

My dad is a senior capt. for USAirways, so back when we all had benefits, I took a free flight to Kansas City to visit the famous Arthur Bryant bbq restaurant. If I knew it was going to be that great I would have easily made a road trip instead!

When I was single, I used to hop on the LA-SF flight to go to my fave Chinese restaurants (all on Jackson Street or around the corner) in Chinatown. There was also a wonderful massage parlor on the same block (no happy endings though). The combination was just magnificent. A trip to SF, superb meal and a massage all came to about a hundred bucks...not a bad way to spend the day.

We have taken day trips to different states to dine at certain resturants, course we did this either by boat or on the bike, so a lot of the fun was just getting there.

Oops, forgot to mention it. Perea's restaurant in Albuquerque, NM. Best carne adovada plus home-made flour tortillas.

My fiance and I had a great time in Boston this time last year, and went to a few of the Italian restaurants. in fact we had dinner at Carmen Trattoria the night I popped the question. Hope to go back soon!

About an hour for me. On many occasions.

I'm a freek for fried clams (being originally from the east coast). Out here in Southern California they're pretty had to come by. There was a place about an hour north of here that had great clams. Unfortunately they closed down. Then there was a place about an hour south of here. They closed down too. JEEZE! I WANT CLAMS!!!!!!!!!

I work a few blocks from Perea's you are right some pretty good Carne Adovada, I just might have to go there for lunch. For me it's never more than a 30 min drive.

Wife and I are going to drive to New Orleans for Thanksgiving....and we are mainly going for the food!!! We have made a list of the restaurants that we both love to visit...breakfast, lunch and dinner....everyday we are eating out!!! Then on the way home...I have a nice big ice chest I am going to fill with shrimp......and more shrimp....some crabs.....and yeah...more shrimp!!! There is a place on the Westback....just after theWestbank Expressway ends...before you get toAvondale that locals call the "Shrimp Stands." You can buyfresh, locally caught seafood right from the guys and gals that caught it a few hours earlier!!!Shrimp the size of myhand are only about $4.00 a lb there!! And I have one big ol' hand!!! Also hitting the grocery stores to buy local brands we can't get here in Houston.

So....It's around 6 hours over to New Orleans from Houston!!!
