Cool Vintage Oris Star Chronoris ~RARE~

...elsewhere.

Up for sale is a ca 1970s vintage Oris Star Chronoris. When introduced in 1970, this ChronOris was the first Oris watch with a chronograph function. Unlike a conventional chronograph, this ChronOris only has one pusher at 2:00, successive pushes of which start, stop and reset the orange sweep hand back to zero. The middle crown rotates the inner bezel. The bottom knurled crown sets the time and date and hand winds with 30 twists from fully stopped. The date sets by setting the time until it clicks over, then rewind back past 9:00, forward past 12, rewind past 9:00 forward past 12, and so on until the date prior to today, then forward until it clicks over to today’s date. Then set the correct time.

Inside this watch is the Oris cal. 725; a 17 jewel, 18,000 bph, manually wound calibre with a chronograph mechanism which was designed and developed in conjunction with Dubois Dépraz, the renowned chronograph specialists.

The strap is a black 18mm Tropic with tang buckle. The case w/o crowns is 38mm. The caseback is a screw-in type and shows hardly any wear. The watch shows less than normal wear for one some 40+ years, TZ 80-85% because the strap is not original. The watch itself could rate 85-90%. It's been well cared for with exception of a few minor dings here and there. Service history is unknown. Other than that, the watch looks clean and sharp, the crystal and dial are crystal clear and it functions as it should, the chrono resets exactly back to 12, and keeps good time.

Asking for [SOLD] $425 shipped conus or best offer. This is a hard watch to find in this good condition. This Chronoris is hard to find in any condition TBO. There were only 27,000 of this model made, in all colors. In 2005 Oris re-issued the Chronoris with a 7750 movement that is also highly collectable.

I will send a PayPal invoice to the buyer which will require a US based confirmed address to complete. Please PM me with any questions or to buy by sending me your PP e-mail for the invoice. I am located conus (Atlanta) and prefer to ship conus.
