Good post. There are quite a few on equal footing here in the USA.

Curious to see what people think as I know personally I couldn't select one over another amongst a few well known.

Get some good ideas by browsing our review forum:

As always, its very subjective.

Personally, I really like Greg Stevens, Micah,SNPR and Rob Montana.

Sorry, I need an operational definition of the term best, otherwise too subjective to answer.

For me, Joe at SNPR makes the best. I had a Montana and SNPR, but I sold the Montana as the SNPR was a bit more comfortable on my wrist and I love the look of the strap.

There are a lot of talented makers out there. I think each one has their specialty. Most of the top guys are using similar techniques. When you get to that level (not implying that I am) you also know what leather is the best to work with to accomplish each goal. Then it all comes down to what designs you like the best and customer service.
Also thank you guys for the kind words above. Its nice to be acknowledged.

Maybe I am alone, but the prices of some of these basic leather straps is more than some real quality s/s! Not for me.

It's bizarre that i can buy a 30" high quality belt including a nice buckle for as

much or much less than many custom leather straps, but i'm a businessman

and a craftsmen so when i consider what the value of four hours is to me

(how long does it take to make a strap?) i cringe but i understand.

Advertising and reviews go along way, my head's not full of experience, only reviews and advertising,

so in the USA i think of Micah, SNRP, because they've left the most positive impressions.

If i were shopping, i'd start here and look into two others that i don't note

only to keep it more specific to "the best" place to begin for me.
