Default Bulova watch - trying to determine date

Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the approximate date of my Bulova Miss America. I purchased it on ebay last year.

Thanks!

Later bulovas had a 2 digit code on the case back . Earlier ones there might be a symbol on the movement. The Internet will help you decipher it depending on what you find on the watch

We need better pictures. Straight on shot of the front, picture of the back, If you can get a picture of the movement.

One photo shows the inside with a "Patent" date of 1924, so perhaps it was made within 10 years of that.

These examples are from the 1920's but closer examination would be required to be more exact. I wish you the best with your search Kitty.

Hi guys, FYI Kitty is my better half!

I opened up the case and took a closer look at the movement, which is a 6AP. According to watchophilia (http://www.watchophilia.com/general-...ova-movements/), this particular movement was manufactured from 1926 to 1930, so at least we have a range and know approximately when it was made. She also has a 6AF which was manufactured between 1925 and 1936. Once I've got my workbench setup finished I'll be servicing both of these movements for her and getting them back up to working spec.

Default Bulova watch...

I guess I underestimated my Hubby's knowledge of vintage watches haha! I wouldn't have posted otherwise I have been interested in watches since I was a child, and find it interesting that they can stuff the manual watch movements into such small cases. These Bulovas are VERY small. I also think women tend to wear larger watches now so that they can wear automatics. I wish there were more choices for automatics for women.
Fun stuff!
