Default Tsoroev Rashid - Shield collection

Hello everyone! I want to announce to all of you about the start of work on a new watch project. The idea for creating this watch came to me while studying the culture of ancient Rome and Greece. So once again, while reading a book about ancient Greek culture, I saw on one of the pages an image of a shield. Made of bronze, decorated with various metal inserts, he really impressed me and the idea immediately came to my mind: “What if to make the shield a central element of the watch’s design?”. In the process, I quickly realized that the shield cannot be an element of the dial or caseback, because in accordance with the original idea, he should be at the center of design and composition as a whole. Then it was decided to take the shield out and insert it into the glass. Then after the idea was outlined, I started working on the details.

This is a one-hand watch, but despite the absence of a minute hand, it is quite accurate to keep the time. So the wide end of the hand indicates the current hour, while the other, thin end of the hand indicates ten-minute intervals.

The lack of a visible hand attachment point creates the feeling that the hand is floating in the air, to create such an effect was one of the main tasks in this project. I decided to make the ends of the hand pointed, because the idea of a shield evokes thoughts of bravery, courage and battles. I plan to polish the marks and ends of the hand using the mirror black polish technique with a small anglage on the ends of the hand. I also plan to make a dial using the hand hammer technique, followed by painting it with a blue lacquer. On the dial itself, I plan to install a ring with a marking of ten-minute intervals, it will be made of silverplated brass, with the printing of the marking itself. I'am planning to use a handmade crocodile leather strap, the buckle will be also made by hand.

This watch will be something like a test of the lifeability of an idea and therefore will be quite affordable. In the future, if the idea resonates with watch collectors, a significantly improved version with a higher-class movement will be released. All watches will be made only to order.

Key facts

Diameter: 44mm
Height: 11mm

This some kind of project Tsoroev, and love the whole idea behind
it, and how unique it is !

Seriously, if it turns out half as nice as your renderings, that would
be impressive enough. ..Oh, and love how you are trying to make
the watch affordable at the end of the day also. ..That's really cool
of you, and a breath of fresh air as well. Think it's going to be so fun
following you along on this adventure.

Want to thank you for giving us this update like this. Wishing you
all the best in this endeavor. Wow, good luck sir !

Hello AtomicTom! Thank very much for kind words and sorry for late reply. I think independent watchmakers watch don't means hundreds of thousands dollars watches if it is not platinum grand complication or something like that.

Any plans for a smaller version for the delicate wristed among us. Very well done rendering. I second AT on starting at a lower price point. Very cool to meet someone supporting the watch collecting community instead of trying to maximize profit. I wish you the best.

No need to apologize, and the thanks actually goes to YOU just for stopping
in, and giving us your insight. It's such a true statement about prices
being high because of out of this world materials, and complications being
used. But, some times a lot of bigger, and smaller brands seem to charge
high prices no matter what. So it's incredibly refreshing like MDNTRDR said,
to hear what you are trying to do.

I am glad to announce the completion of work on the Shield project. The realisation of this project took more than three months and the process was not easy, but I tried my best and now you can see the final result. In the photographs you can see the first fully completed prototype. I decided to make the Shield without engravings and any patterns in order to give future customers more opportunities to personalize their watches. I know there is lack of info at the caseback, but honestly i wanted tp make it clear.

Again, you've done well.
Nothing wrong with a nice clean caseback as you have quite a bit of detail on the dial already.
Keep us updated

Yeah, yowza, well done Tsori !

Had thought it would just be cool if the watch turned out half
as good as the finished product. But somehow the finished
watch looks even nicer than even the original plans. You
have a classic, yet also futuristic, and almost extraterrestrial
feel happening with this creation.

Can't get enough of just the mystery dial design. ..Just that
liquid metal top section is fascinating, and love how you can
customize not only it, but the dial as well.

What a terrific job, and watch !! ..Big congratulations there !

Don't mention it, and the thanks goes to you really. Seriously, your
best is insanely impressive, and just extraordinary Tsori !

Love the unique design, but then how you have that passion, and hunger
to always need, or want to improve. It's remarkable imho !!!
