Default How my watches wear.

So as I have acquired a small collection I have decided to take some measurements. I have an 8.5in wrist around and the width where my watches sit is 64.49mm. Now some on my watches seem to wear smallish. I ordered a digital caliper so I could take the measurements. Here are the results I have gotten. The watches that wear bigger on me are the Fortis, Tockr, Mercer, Reactor, Dryden and Armour Lite. The others tend to "look and feel" small on my wrist. It is funny how some seem small and others don't. I think I need to measure the dial sizes and the bezel size.

That is so interesting Shaker, and fun to find out about !

Was going to say that the lugs might have a lot to do with how
the watches felt, or looked on the wrist. But then saw that the
Casio, Glycine, and Traser had wide lug to lugs, but still looked
to feel small on your wrist. ..The dials, and bezels might be the
keys like you said.

It's great detective work ! ..Thanks a lot sir !!!

Nice observations. Any ideas whether curved or straight lugs make any difference? I've noticed on some watches even with similar lug styles the spring pin sits lower in relation to to the face of the watch then others. Maybe flatter backsides? I only ask because I'm at the other end. I am fairly small wristed and try to see a watch in person because of the differences even in watches with similar specs. Useful info thank you.

So I had some time tonight to go through and get more measurements and pics. Here is the updated spreadsheet and pics of all the watches from top down and side on the arm.

Shaker, you're a breath of fresh air around here. You've shared with us what you've bought (even before you could get home and get 'em on on your wrist) and always shown pics along the way. I gotta say I love that.

I have but one request: instead of flash photography, see if you can use ambient light instead. Any ambient surrounding light. That flash makes it look like you're a murderer with a watch fetish. There's a crime scene quality...

Lol just for you, I went and got a cheap little desk lamp for taking better pics in the truck.Ok Ok sonotreally just for you I needed a better light in here to take pics with as the flash is harsh and the overheads cast massive shadows as the damn phone is in the way. So I found this little guy and picked oit up and took a test shot of the Tockr (ignore the dust). Much better pic than the flash.

Shaker that's some good info. One of the things I've learned the hard way if buying online look at the lug shape.

I've been thinking today as I drove along. I have acquired a nice collection so far and I have had some interesting thoughts. First, my favorite watch is still the Fortis. That hasn't changed since I got it. My second favorite is surprisingly enough is the Mercer. I love how it wears and its looks.

Oh the Dryden, awesome! I picked up one of those! Love it! Definitely appreciated the little extras that came with it too -- have already used the canvas roll bag a few times now.

And, great insights into how watches wear, versus specs alone.
