Default What's up with Seiko Monster's?

I have been cleaning out my collection of watches, as most of us do after time collecting and have another grail in sight.

This post is more of a "did I miss something here?" I have a couple "safe queen" Monsters and was doing some pricing research in the thought of selling them and noticed prices of what was once an affordable solid dive watch seem to be off the chart for the original SKX781's (Orange Monster), some of the other originals, and the anniversary model.

What am I missing here? Looking for comments and insight.

Can't give you any great insight WatchHunter. Just an opinion really.

Could it maybe have to do with people liking the original design so much?

Seems like it's always hard to beat an original, and the first Monster
design was, and is so great honestly. So maybe the prices are just
reflecting how much people like that watch, or watches with the
original look.

Although after just looking, it seems like even the 2nd generation
Monsters are up there in price too !

Guess everyone just likes all of the Monsters a lot WH !

Not sure what you mean by "off the chart" wrt prices. Decent examples can still be found at a reasonable price. A very nice one was sold here last week for what looks like a fair and reasonable price

It's the 2nd Gen OM prices that have gone nuts. The Gen 1, unless LNIB with bracelet, probably not so much from my experience.
