Default "From Russia with Love" #3 on the way!

Ordered my third Vostok Amphibia while I was on vacation, it should arrive before the end of the month.

Love these watches, absolutely love them! Now I will have a black dial, teal dial and a white dial in the collection. In the near future, I plan on adding the red, green and yellow dial Konandarski Vostoks as well!

Boy does that sound familiar! I was completely enamored with mine for the 3 months or so that it kept decent time. It started going all over the place, and then moisture appeared under the crystal (this was a 200m diver, by the way!).

I decided to have some fun trying to regulate it, and that completed its journey to becoming a paperweight.

But I thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted, and it only cost me about $50.

Chazz:
Like tha man sez "To each his own" cept Amphibia will never be my own!
Amphib i ordered completely opposite my Komanderiske. It started making
strange noises and I took it to my watchmaker of 35+ years. He refused to
even remove the case back from Komrade Amphib.
Amphib was consigned to nearest dumper. Das Vedania (or whatever)

Maybe Vostok Russia is better? Good luck with it Chazzman. Luv yer other
watches tho.

The case back on an Amphibia is one of the easiest to take off case backs out there, and when you put it back together again it doesn't require a gasket replacement. Of course, the servicing probably cost more than the watch.

WFs:
How can there be such a variation between a Komanderiske and an Amphib?
Except for the Rube Goldberg type method of settings on a Komanderiske I
totally enjoyed the uniqueness of Russkie watches. But youngest daughter
did too. So I gifted it to her.
Why on earth would a VP in her Co who owns 2 Tag Heuer Formula ones and
a smart watch, want a sub $100 watch?
Wimmen are crazy. BTW I can spell women.

I believe Comrade Svetlana had imbibed too much tater hooch the day she
assembled my Amphib!!!!
Just how many objects have the Ivans copied? Airplanes. Watches, and Colt
automatic pistols (the Makarov) to name but a few.

If you look at a couple of videos on the origin of the Vostok Amphibia, you will find it isn't a copy of anything, a ground-up design that uses some unique designs to make the watch waterproof and simple. The only thing that is a drawback to me is the no quick-change date feature.

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...6&&FORM=VRDGAR

I don't know when you purchased yours, but I think they have improved quality control since then.

The more I look into this watch, it's unique history and design, coupled with a more than robust service record, the more I am impressed, I can now profess I'm an official Vostok Fan-Boy!
