Default Titoni space star

I took another crack at buying a vintage watch....
This time it was from a brand I have looked at a few times in the past....Titoni.
This is their space star, and was produced in the 60's. Houses an ETA 2789 automatic 25 jewel movement.
36.5mm case size without crown, 40mm lug to lug. (Not really lugs though, but you know what i mean)

Interesting ombre style dial with a lighter center moving to darker left and right areas.
Signed crown. 18mm lug width and came with a pretty nice buffalo leather strap (stamped swiss leather if that means anything)

a bit smaller than what im used to, but it wears well on me. The wife likes the dial and case shape so i have guard it closely or risk losing a third watch to her (shes waiting for my pink panther watch to get here)

Interestingly, the crystal is actually scalloped around the edge. Tried to get a pic of it. Ivs never seen that before.
Its not sapphire though (according to my diamond tester)

Overall I like it. Ill get it on the timegrapher later and see how the old ETA movement is holding up.

Now that is too cool WM, and can totally see what you are talking
about with the crystal there ! It's kind of like it is a
faceted crystal, or something. It's fantastic to see really! THX for
the excellent pictures !

Vintage watches in general are just amazing to me, and this Titoni
is incredible imho. ..Just the dial, case, and movement are out of
this world, and then the name literally IS ! Big congrats 2 U sir !!!

After wearing it all day I popped it on the timegrapher.
Amplitude is low and beat error is high, but I may have the lift angle way off, and I don't know what a healthy amplitude should be on that movement.
Either way, +15 s/day is pretty good for a 50 year old watch.

Sharp! I like it, and the movement performs pretty awesome for its age!

Very nice vintage piece. Great movement. Love the purple, the name and that great crystal. Is it Italian ? Congrats and enjoy.

Looks to be in decent shape too.

Amplitude - generally speaking for a watch of that age, an amplitude of between 250-300 is fine. Should easily achieve that with a service and regulating
