Default Seiko PADI arrived.

The Turtle PADI arrived today, came in a regular white Seiko box, no fancy blue PADI box others are complaining about not getting? Since I am not going to wear the box, the offical one is only card board, it doesn’t bother me at all.

Now the wood boxes that my LLD and Eterna Kon Tiki came in, that’s a different story.

SRPA21

45mm case width

13mm case height.

Movement Seiko 4R36 automatice hack/hand wind, 41 hours reserve.

Hardlex crystal

Day/Date display window.

OK quick review, the watch very nice, the fit in and finish isn’t quite as good as a Sumo, but the case shape more then makes up for that. My Blumo had long lugs and a 20mm bracelet, which made the watch wear very unbalanced on my wrist. This watch has shorter lugs and a 22mm bracelet, which makes for a more balanced and comfortable wear.

The bracelet itself seems as least as good as my BLUMO as far as fit and finish, yet still has the cheesy stamped clasp, which is the only negative about this watch. The bracelet fit my 8” wrist with room to spare in fact I had to move it three micro adjustments tighter to get the proper fit, so those with the gorilla arms should be able to fit this watch also.

Bezel turns and clicks into place very well, and there is no wobble. The chapter ring is perfectly aligned, and no problem there, despite previous complaints about that.

The blue and red pepsi dial is very nice, but the stand out feature of the watch is the dial. Indoors the face appears to be a flat dark blue, yet when out in sunlight it appears a nice sunburst blue, very very nice.

For under $400 this is a very nice watch, in fit and finish, in between a Seiko SKX and a Sumo, but leaning more to the Sumo side of quality.

Is it a Marine Master or a Sub, hell no, but it sure is a nice dive watch that will work just as well for thousands less.

The watch may last a few days more on the bracelet, but this watch screams for Mesh or a Nato.

P.S. DePaulas Jewelers is now selling these on Amazon for the same price I picked it up for, $393.

Also I took it in the pool with me today, and no leaks, although if it did fail I would be shocked beyond belief for a Seiko to crap out in the water.

Looks awesome wish I had known before picking up my regualr pepsi. Then they go and annouce crystal pepsi. I am thinking about one anyway though seems redundant to have both.

I love it, it's a gem of a watch. Seiko made a good decision to re-introduce the original Turtle, an iconic design. And price wise it comes in under most of the better known micro brand offerings. A great start for budding collectors!

Accuracy update, the watch is running a consistent -2 seconds a day since I first put it on my wrist. I would prefer it ran fast then slow, because it easier to reset that way.

Excuse me, I have to go outside and squirt with my squirt gun Mr. Woody Woodpecker who is now pecking at the stucco on my house, the little moron lives in a Saguaro cactus in front of my house, but isn't satisfied with just pecking on that, the little *******!

Both my SRP's started out around -5 s/d slow, but don't be surprised if it settles down even slower as both mine did. I love Seiko, but every one I have run slow, except my Tuna.

Guess I will have to set it 30 seconds fast every few days, or maybe down the line have it regulated.

Nice,,,I'm patiently waiting for mine (ordered thru JCPenny for $330 using coupons).

Just got a shipping notice today so should be here by Fri. I'm planning to put mine on a 22mm obris morgan rubber strap.

Just hoping it won't be too big for my smallish 6.75" wrist.

It shouldn't be to big, the lug to lug is pretty short on this one. Rides a whole lot better on my wrist then the Blumo did, the wider bracelet and shorter lugs help out a lot.

Looks nice. I'm not big into Seiko (no, I'm not sure exactly why not) but this one is nice and with the short lug length you get a nice sized watch that anyone can wear. Looks like they did a lot of things right.

The only things they could do to improve this watch to make it just about perfect. is a sapphire crystal with AR and a ceramic bezel.

You can put the sapphire on with aftermarket products, anxiously waiting for the ceramic aftermarket ceramic bezel and I will have it all done.

I have experimented with various straps and bracelets, and I found this the best for me, shark mesh.

Got mine in today as well. Switched to leather strap but will be putting mine on a leather nato permanently.

It's a perfect dive watch for weekend/beach wear without breaking the wallet!!
