Default Zodiac Sea Wolf

Took a chance and won this on the bay last night, It has a "minor" mechanical issue that I am gambling won't cost much to fix, and I believe it has the wrong crystal. According to the PO the rotor arbor is worn causing the watch to occasionally "stop". If I can get it fixed for $300 or less I could have a real find, and double my money IF I decided to sell it, which I most likely will not. More pics when it arrives.

Gasket and movement appear to be in really good shape. Looks like it just needs a good clean. Great find!

It's here! It seems to hand wind OK, I noticed it sounds like it winds as you unscrew the crown. Auto wind seems to work, still trying to figure out how long it runs before it stops. "Crystal" is lose and feels like plastic but that's an easy fix. The face and bezel are very clean and free of scratches, there is debris floating in the date window but all the numbers are clean. The case back has a couple of significant gouges where an opening tool has slipped but other then that just light wear. Here are some pics.

Woohoo phottomatt !!! Is this beautiful, or what?! The red bezel, and how it plays off the red second hand is worth the price of admission. It's like a forefather to the Black Bay ! Fantastic !!! ..The entire watch is so impressive, and those small problems just add a little vintage charm imho.
Such a 'super' Sea Wolf ! Huge congratulations on the find sir !

Beautiful vintage watch, enjoy!

I miss the one I had while in the Marines, have seen a few on Ebay, but always ended up on the short end of the bidding stick.

Glad to see you finally got her in working order.

Hope the service didn't cost you a lot.

The key is to take proper care of your watches and in return they will last long enough to pass them down to the grand kids. ahaha. Taking good care of a watch also means wearing it lol.

1975, not sure why they did it, but now I'm curious LOL.

WOW! That's a special one, from before the date window, shame you don't still have it, they are pushing $1000 dollars these days.
