These threads come up on forums from time to time, and feel free to let us know what you do for a living. If you dont feel comfortable giving out that info, by all means, you dont have to, but its always fun to see what different walks of life we all lead and how we all come together for our passion of watches.

Most people know that I am a chef, I use the name tattoo chef , just to be funny, as Im a chef, and have tattoos. Basically I work in the resturaunt business, and Im trying to get into Dining Room and Resturaunt Management right now, and hopefully one day be able to start my own Interent dessert business, selling gourmet cakes and pies and other desserts and shipping them around the country. So that is what I do , and my aspirations for the near future.

So, what do you do for a living?

I am a retired ICU/ER/flight nurse/rancher. I worked so I could keep ranching. I'd love to still be working, I loved my jobs and ranching is where I grew up. I am only 59 but was forced to medical retire 4 years ago.

I am a safety and claims support scientist in the cosmetic and personal care industry. When you see a commercial or ad that says 'an independent laboratory', they are referring to us or one of our competitors. We provide testing services for almost all the major cosmetic and personal care companies in the world. I design the studies, oversee their implementation and interpret the study results. I am a microbiologist by education and have co-authored a chapter in a text book on the testing and claims support of antibacterial hand wash products (my specific area of expertise), I hope to retire in less then 10 years and move to Arizona. I like to cook and collect watches (:c).

I retired my psychotherapy practice in Jan, 2006 (age 40) after a diagnosis of terminal prostate cancer which metastasized to my bones. I have been undergoing innovative and experimental treatments over the past few years. Honestly, my ambitions are to just remain alive and spend time with my daughter.

I work closely with one of my best friends and for the past 10 years I have run his companies. He has a variety of different businesses but the 3 that take up most of our time are the events production company with offices in 4 states, the chain of restaurant/bars, and a new dedicated special event space where we produce events.

Simplest way to explain is this.
