Guys, most, if not all of us use a screen/user name. My nick name is GoodWatch, I adopted this in 1999 when I became member #9 on T.U.R.F. My real name is Frans (often confused with Franz, the German version of my name).
What I would like to ask you it to state your nickname followed by your real name. The reason is that I find it a bit awkward addressing another member by his nickname. It creates distance. So it would give me great pleasure if you would state your real name. If you don't want to, just don't reply.
Arthur (Art) here.
Nic name? Lou Snutt.
Lou Snutt was a cartoon feature character in the U S Air Force Safety Magazine.
Lou was forever flying off the handle. Much like me if and when I lost it over an
issue. Such as when things would go to hell in a handbasket as I was running a
train to Houston. 40 years as a RR Locomotive Engr.
Still have the 2 Hamilton gold pocketwatches that Engr's were required to use on
duty. 992b and 950b.
My name IRL is Jeff. (short for Jeffrey, which only my sister calls me with any regularity)
FunkDaLicious, was just a video game username I came up with on the spot many years ago (not my main gamertag, but that is another story). I thought it was clever in my early 20's as a play off of being "Funky" and "Delicious." Don't be confused by that, however, as I am not funky in the least bit. I just knew it would be unique enough not to run into someone already having the name. Some here just shorten to Funk, and understandably so.
Great story Arthur (Lou). I know of Lou Snut and found your handle funny...and now I know the rest of the story.
My handle comes from my last job. I'm a 30 year AF Vet and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt), and my last name begins with the letters B and O (also my nickname among friends).
My go-by name is Brad, and I'm a watchaholic.
BTW Arthur/Lou, my Grandfather was an Engineer and his 992b Railway Special just popped a mainspring months after a rebuild. Grrrrrr!
My screen name is Ganson, which is just my first initial/last name.
Real name is Garrick.
I gave up on using clever online handles years ago (and I have had many since the early 90's!), and lost interest in the anonymity they provide. I found too many people say things they wouldn't dare under the guise of anonymity online.
Names David. The Yukon01 part came years ago from something else I registered for. Not much thought then, just the truck I bought brand new, and year made. Somewhere along the line when I tried registering somewhere else that user name was taken so I just put 59 (year born) in front of it and have been using it since. Oh and I still drive this truck, as it's become a personal challenge to see just how long it will last. 200K plus miles, trouble free, and excellent condition. I've also been payment free since 2004. My wife drives a Lexus.......go figure.[emoji1]
The TVDinner member name was created and first used about 10 years ago on another site I started that was a movie/tv/food themed forum site. Was a fun site and I always that that screen name and the same Avatar -
Do they even still make those? I remember as a kid eating those things. I loved them. Wouldn't eat one today but back then i considered them one of the basic food groups.
My avatar is my Weimaraner, Ellie Girl. In my opinion, one of the most elegant and beautiful breeds of dog in the world and ridiculously intelligent to boot.
The jade4x4 is a pretty simple one. It's the first two letters of my first name (James) and the first two letters of my last name. In all of the other forums I participate in I use "jade330i" as a remembrance to the first nice car I could afford; my BMW 330i.
"Lou Snutt" here
