Because the subject matter would have been extremely controversial. That said, it is on my top ten movies list, and on my list that ain't easy.

An american born muslim who is a trained explosives ordinance disposal expert places 3 nukes around the US and then states demands before he will give up the locations.

Carrie Ann Moss is the FBI agent tasked to find the bombs, Samuel L Jackson is the contractor hired to get the whereabouts of the bombs from the terrorist...

I won't say anything else except the ensuing battle between the terrorist, Jackson and Moss is some of the most disturbing film making I have hever seen and the lengths a nation will go to to protect its own is terrifying...

The movie will not appeal to some, others will deny things like it happen, watch it for yourself, be warned, it is a tough watch.

Dingbat.

I JUST saw this last week myself. It is a VERY hard movie to watch as they literally torture the terrorist to try to find out where the bombs are in America. It is intense, graphic and probably JUST ABOUT AS ACCURATE as what would happen. My wife COULD NOT watch the movie and stopped watching as soon as the torture began.

I completely supported Samuel Jackson's character as a person doing a job that that no one would ever wanted to do but someone had to. Carrie Ann Moss also probably represented how most people would react to being in the position she was. Well done movie and I love movies that are realistic and DON'T SHOW just happy endings and were everything works out for the main characters.

I want to stress that this movie IS NOT for everyone and many people will be offended by it and the tactics used by our government to try to save our citizens. BUT it is EXACTLY what probably is currently done and would need to be done.

James I am with you. It not easy finding a movie that does not have a happy ending. I think this movie is right up my alley.

Rent Arlington Road. Another movie with an ending that is anti-hollywood and an ending where the bad guys ..... win
