I guess stock in Apple is going to jump again.

These "smart" devices aren't really for me, but I am interested to see what the new
wiz-bang does.....

The 42mm stainless steel version with sport band (silicone) is $599, with stainless steel bracelet $999. Making the bracelet alone a whopping $400! Sorry, a 'link' bracelet.

If you do, please let us know what you think about the watch. Build quality, fit and finish, functions, well, you know the drill

I've owned a lot of Apple products
The Se system 6 was my first of many

But this is never going to be one of my watches

I wonder if they have tracking devices in them

I'll stick with my $89.00 Pebble smart watch for now (I'm all Android anyway).

I'll hold off until they get better battery life. 18hrs doesn't cut it for me, I've done longer shifts at work.

When Pebble first came out many people scoffed at them and said smartwatches would never make it. With the new offerings coming out and the companies behind them I would say they have more than made it. There may be more smartwatches on peoples wrists soon as the younger generation is more likely to embrace this newer technology as an extension of their smartphones. I think smartwatches will prove to be a great success and they will continue to evolve. I now own two and if I used iPhone I might have a third soon. But the new Huawei (WORST NAME EVER) might have to be my third as I am an Android man.

I am really excited for this product and I am not even remotely part of the target audience.

I do not own an I phone and at this point have no plans to. My wife however does and ironically as much as I have tried to get her interested in Watches has shown very little interest even after I have purchased her several nice time pieces.

She is now geared up to wear a watch. Granted its the I watch, but at least there is interest. I for one will be happy to see more watches on wrists. If even 1 out of 10 develops an interest and starts expanding their horizons I think it will be good for all of us.

I am sure there will be the usually Appleheads camping out for days to pay 3,4,5 hundred bucks for these but as far as the rest of the public goes I doubt they will jump on the band wagon as fast. I still think it's pretty dam Ugly too. One of the reasons I don't care for most of the Smart watches out there they look like something out of the 70s.

When I was talking to the Salesman at Sprint the other day he told me something I didn't think of there are no discounts on Smartphones because they don't require a contract they are just a Bluetooth extension of your phone so they do not qualify for any deals. Never thought of that. He did say that they have discounted a lot of the other Smart Watches because of the lack of interest in them if they sell four or five a month at his store that is a lot. He also told me that a lot of them get broken too easily lots of complaints. I wonder if the I watch will get broken easily? I can see Apple selling 10m of them to their distributors that is a common marketing ploy to make it look like it's a big hit. I want to see the sales figures for these from they actual people selling them like the cell phone companies, Best Buy etc but will they actually sell 1Mil to actual 1 mil ppl is the question. Truthfully I think it's going to be a big disappointment for Apple.

I read this article on USA today as well as the one posted, I have to say I agree with this article more! I do not think the I watch will have that much of an edge to really climb to the top of the market.
