Makes sense to me, thanks for taking the time to reply.
I understand the need ot declutter and look at things from both buyers and sellers' perspectives. PLus wiht the ability to turn on/off the dupping feature, it is no problem.
One problem I often see is where the the watch for sale and photo on the summary result pages get mixed up.

Thanks again for the reply and for watchrecon, though my wife thinks it is "dangerous"

I've seen the picture mix up issue on iPads; I investigated that problem and concluded that there was a subtle bug somewhere on iOS rather than WatchRecon.
I've also seen sellers that posted the wrong pictures or subject, and later correcting them.
Another instance is sellers reusing URLs to images they post. WatchRecon aggressively caches these images because it deals with a lot of images. When URLs are reused before the cache expires, the wrong photo will get picked up. This doesn't happen very often though.
Of course, there's always a chance that there's a bug in WatchRecon. I would love to be informed of examples when they occur to aid my investigation. Thanks!

That might be a bug in Apples implementation of Webkit. I have seen that issue before on desktop Safari as well (although not as often as I do on the iPad).

Thanks for the great web tool, Watchrecon rocks!

Can you explain please when your site is now scraping the info from this site and others. For example I posted a new for sale watch around 4pm. It finally showed up on recon around 6:30 or so. In the past watches would show up when bumped or when the sites were scraped.

What is the frequency formula now?

The crawl schedule has not changed in the last couple of years. It wakes up every 30 minutes to do a sequential scan of everything. Sometimes, a single run may last longer than 30 minutes, but usually listings should be indexed within an hour unless there's a bug in how WR detects new listings, bugs in parser (i.e: updated or unexpected HTML output), or connectivity issues on the server. Please let me know if it happens next time because it really can be a bug and not something I can easily detect otherwise.

It does not seem to be crawling watch Freeks with the same frequency as it used to do. I have been watching when people post new sales listings on this site or sales threads are bumped and they are not showing up on Recon like they used to. I am not the only one who has noticed this.

Then I posted my own sales listing yesterday and it was hours and hours before it showed up on recon. Just thought you would want to know.

I did some investigation in the code to see if there's any problem parsing the index page here, but I didn't find any obvious issue with the code or the output it produced.
I also checked the server log to verify its behavior in the previous months. It's been consistent with getting 37 or 38 listings (excluding stickies). I was impressed that it's crawled a total of 36573 times now
Please let me know if a listing fails to get indexed by WR. I will be able to take a look immediately.

We switched software to vbulletin this week and I do not believe ANY of our threads are being pulled right now to Watch Recon.

Can you please check this out. Thanks!

spoke to the Watch Recon team and we made a few adjustments on our end here on the new site. With these changes the For Sales listings on Watch Freeks should start showing up on Watch Recon again sometime today.

We should be good to go today sometime. Thanks all!
