About: (From Website)
I guess you could say that I've always been a fan of watches and fine leather. Back in 2005 I built my first watch strap and since then I've sold thousands to clients all over the world. Over the years I've expanded my offerings to include wallets, belts, watches, and other accessories. I source the best materials that I can lay my hands on and your complete satisfaction is always guaranteed.

Stock Photo:

Strap Description:
Introducing my latest leather, Horween Tan Inferno. Same leather used for the Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots. Love the mustard/tan color, expect it to develop a fantastic patina with wear.

Thickness: 4.5mm
Keepers: 1 large floating keeper
Stiffness: NONE
Stitching: creme colored thread, box stitching

Thoughts and impressions:
Quite simply: This strap is FANTASTIC. No other words to describe it.
The color is a shade different than the stock photo from GSD, might have been his lighting, but my strap is more of a golden or honey tan. The color to me is simply beautiful, and only gets better the more you wear it. Below you will find a photo of it after being worn for 2 weeks.

The leather is supple and soft, almost a hybrid of leather, as it somewhat feels like a cross between regular leather and suede. Horween leather is basically the best there is, and that is why these straps usually command a premium.

As said, this is the same Horween leather that Wolverine 1000 mile uses for one of their models.

Having this strap from Greg Stevens, makes me want a pair of the boots now,..just because I know now how good the leather is.

This is the type of leather that scuffs and markings are welcome....will give each wearer its own personal "patina" so that no two will look alike after some wear.

The strap is just about 4.5mm thick, with raw edges, which I seem to prefer these days vs waxed edges, as I feel it makes the strap more flexible, and no break in period. And there is absolute NO break in period with this strap, fits like a glove from the first moment you strap it to the wrist.

The buckle here is a GSD Pre V buckle that is very thick and solid, and compliments the strap while not taking away focus from the strap itself.

Another thing I really like about this strap is the use of the one large keeper. It is something I now look for on straps and prefer. Not only do I think it looks better aesthetically, but I feel its easier to slide the strap into the one large keeper vs two smaller ones.

Some of have said they do not like the combo of this strap with the Magrette Blue Tiki above, and of course, that is personal preference. I do like the look of the blue and the tan, but if you don't...this strap should look fantastic with creme dials, black dials, white dials etc and of course you can choose any color of stitching you would like.

This is another home run from Greg, who as proven, at least to me, to make incredible straps with premium leathers.

Thank you for reading, as always I look forward to your comments.

Why "Inferno"? I think of fire or something hot. Just curious as to the name of the strap. Maybe I missed it noted in the review?

Not sure. Inferno is Italian for h e l l . Maybe just a fiery tan color.

Great Strap. Horween is as you put it simply the best especially when in the hands of a true artist.

Thank you for the great review!

I do like the strap a lot, I'm just curious about the color of the leather. Is it something between yellow and tan? How it looks outside?

Thanks Don! The bright blue dial on Magrette Regattare makes good match with this strap. Although I guess it looks stunning with any strap.

That strap looks great on the Regettare. I can think of a lot of other dive and field watches that would look great on. Beautiful strap!

I like the strap and love Horween leather. I have a few Horween straps from Joe and they rock, so soft, no break in period as you said. I am curious as to what the real color looks like, as there is a big difference between his and your photos. It's always something I worry about when I buy a leather strap. Pics can be misleading. I like the texture of the leather and I bet it feels awesome too.
I think I'd prefer a darker strap on this watch but its not a bad combo at all.
