Packaging:

The strap arrived in a cardboard tube which was packaged within a padded mailing envelope. Inside the tube, the strap was wrapped in red velour and tied closed with a satin ribbon. I am not a real big fan of elaborate packaging for straps, so I was pleased with this presentation and found it to be a nice touch.

Photos of strap:

Pulcher offers many different styles of leather straps, from browns and blacks that are common amongst strap makers to those with more nontraditional and brighter colors. For this strap review, I chose the “Blue Pearl", which is one of the selections from the company's "Suitmatcher" series.

When I first received the strap, I was impressed by its unique appearance and deep blue tone. The color of the leather has varying shades of blue throughout its surface. The surface of the strap has a matte finish that accentuates the rustic appearance of the strap and gives it a nice casual appearance. The color of this strap is very vibrant in person and it reminds me of the look of denim.

The strap's stitching is light grey and is finished in boxed ends at the lugs. The photos below provide a closer look at Pulcher's stitching and how nicely the grey thread coordinates with the blue tones of the strap. The stitching is all done by hand so, as you can see from the photos below, there are some variations in stitch size as a result.

The Pulcher name is embossed into the underside of the strap.

Fresh out of the packaging, the strap had a soft texture. It was fairly stiff at first, but did break in fairly quickly. The edges have a fantastic burnished finish which coordinates nicely with the straps color and casual appearance.

The following photos were taken with the strap mounted onto a Panerai Luminor Marina 104. The tone of the strap works very nicely with the watch and, although the Pre-V buckle’s surface has a brushed finish, it looks perfectly at home when paired with the blue strap and watch’s polished case finish.

Wrist Shots:

Please note: For reference purposes, the pictures below are taken on a 7.25 inch wrist.

My Thoughts and Impressions:

Overall, I am pleased with the quality of this strap and I would recommend Pulcher for someone a unique hand-crafted, mid-priced strap. The craftsmanship of this strap seems to be on par with similar straps within its price point. These factors, coupled with the fact that it is completely handmade, make the strap a very good value and a nice alternative for someone looking a strap that is just a little different, with a splash of color.

In addition to the "Blue Pearl" that was reviewed, the company also makes a wide variety of styles, which use traditional leather as well as vibrant colors. When you have the opportunity, take a look at the company's website to see other examples of their other work.

Thanks for Reading ~ Mark

I bet that would look SO good on a blue dial watch, or one with blue accents. Thanks for the review.

If it came in 20mm , it would look great on my Omega SMP. It does! I ordered a blue
topaz. You should get a commission.

Great review, thanks. That is the perfect color blue for a lot of watches. I've been looking for that color to put on my blue Orient Flight, but I paid less for the watch, so I will have to keep looking. Great nonetheless.

Whoa, these are pretty spectacular Mark ! Not only looks like you get a premium strap with with unbelievable quality, and materials, but the workmanship is top notch also. Love the whole hand made theme with straps like these first off. I mean just the fact that you can get the same strap done in different ways because of the human element is cool enough to me. Then to get so many different styles, or colors like this makes it even more exceptional. Really are nice Mark ! Really nice review also !!! ..By the way, these really do look like denim, or jeans.

The Close up pictures let me see the craftsmanship + only 5 wholes, which caught my attention. The $130 tag turned me off at first until I went to the website. I saw that along with the color choices, the length choices and the choice I have yet to see another manufacturer with is the [Lug + Width Choice]. Thanks
