Default Michael Ells Watches

Hey Guys,

Thoughts on this brand?

I was not too impressed by any of their watches. A store opened up at my local mall and I stopped in to see what they had. Sales person was a little bit of a good. Trying to explain the whole sapphire crystal and ceramic bracelet "need" to me. Yet he didn't even see I was wearing a watch let alone knew my watches. I was treated like an infant in the store. Anyways, not why I'm posting this.

What are your thoughts on these watches? Kinda wanted to gather a little bit of intel on this brand. Some watches were $3,000 others were $300. Kinda like Seiko.

Well, part of the problem is that you fatfingered the name . It is Michael Ellis and I had to Google them.

There sure is not a ton of info on them. I could not even really find images. I found the web page for the brand and it looks incomplete. The few images I did find on Yahoo! look like knockoffs of other popular watches. There are only about a dozen pictures I could even drive up. You are saying they opened an entire store for this brand?

Yes you are correct. That is what I am saying.

Michael Ellis is a jewler. They have their own store selling watches as well as rings and so forth.

The salesperson I spoke to had great knowledge of watches themselves but couldn't even tell me the movement in his Tag he was wearing. Also could not tell me the second rate of each watch how much they lose for his company. It was like he didnt want to. He kept going off about how they use the best Chinese movement that won last year in Baselword in Switzerland.

Also he went off on the fact they use 3 movements.

1. Swiss.
2. Japanese.
3. Chinese.

But again, he could not tell me which kind of movement there is a wide range and whether or not they were modified movements.

I struggle to find any information on these watches. I now feel that I need to stay away from them.

The first one is semi nice. I would consider that one. The bottom one, no way. A lot of their watches look like that and its not my style. Way too flashy for me. I like the elegance and timeless look on my watches.

From $300 to $3000? Seriously? If that's the case, and I didn't misunderstand....no way now how

Looked at website and watches on Amazon they have listed. Look like inexpensive department store watches. Your money could be better spent in my opinion.

I'm serious.

There was a watch I liked at $269 to be exact. Then I kept looking and they had this half mechanical half quartz movement for $2,000. It had a ceramic bracelet and sapphire crystal lol!

So I take it not many of you have heard of them. Not worth the air they breathe. I just don't understand how they have a store. And if I was going to spend $1900 on a watch I would walk across the hallway to Raffi and buy a Tag or something.

......or a Sinn, or a Oris, or a Alpina, or a Tutima, or a Damasko, or a Perrelet, or a Aquadive, or a Ball, or a Longines, or a Hamilton
