IMO I do not worry about where watches are made, Even some of the supposed Swiss watches are made with parts from China and just assembled in Switzerland. A majority of the watches you mentioned usually have Swiss or Japanese quartz movements, some autos use a Seagull movement. I own several watches I swear by that are from Asian origins. Chinese made watches have gotten much better over the years and stand up to most other brands. I would look thru the reviews and make your own judgement but if you like a style of a watch and it's affordable get it try it out. If I went by what a lot of people say about watch brands I wouldn't have some of my favorite watches!!

There's a big difference between "Made in China" and "Made in Hong Kong" even though Hong Kong is part of China... Most of your micros have stuff sourced out of Hong Kong while just about all of your replica watches come from China, for example

I haven't experienced a Reactor watch yet that isn't built like a tank. I've seen the Neutron, Poseidon and the Valkyrie and they are all pretty fantastic. Pretty sure Hong Kong/China is the origin for all their models which really shouldn't be a huge issue based on what I have seen of them.

Hello everyone. I reached out to the Brand directly and am happy to report that they got back to me with the following detailed information.

Quote:
- All SS and Titanium are sourced from Japan
- 99% of our movements are from Japan due to reliability and ability to take abuse
- All dial technology is from Switzerland
- All dials are produced in Taiwan. (only dial vendor that can replicate our level of Superluminova application)
- The actual assembly of the components above is done in DongGuan / Shenzhen ( southern China )
- QC checks are done in DongGuan/ Shenzhen, HK and the US.

We do the assembly in our approved factories in China so we can offer Swiss quality watches at a much more affordable cost. A quality watch comes down to the components, specifications and QC.
Thank you to Reactor for providing the detailed info.

For anyone interested I have done multiple reviews on Reactor watches over the years and found them built like tanks (very solid) and packed with features. Here are links to the reviews I personally have done.

Reactor Valkyrie ---> https://www.watchfreeks.com/121-watch...ure-heavy.html

Reactor Gamma Titanium --> https://www.watchfreeks.com/121-watch...01-review.html

I had the idea, the watch is assembled in China. I just got the vibe, after reading the company's info. The watches seem to be overpriced. Obviously aiming at a younger buyer. If one likes it, go for it !

Not sure what "gave you any idea" lol. No where on their watches do they claim "Swiss Made" or have they ever made any comments about that.

And on the price - If anything I think they are priced pretty consistently with just about every other brand offering the build quality they do. check out the reviews and you might understand more.

Maybe that's what they mean. I should have used the quotes, but above, it says dial technology from Switzerland. I suppose that could be the tubes.

Many thanks for this link and review here Tattoo Chef! It was AWESOME!!

I want to see more Carbon watches and will execute a search using Google I guess - unless you Pro's can pull a link out of your ear as you have done for me so far! **You all have been great sources of info and I SERIOUSLY appreciate it all. Outstanding forum and friendliness all around.

Question for the Chef - exactly what does your avatar symbolize with the straight razor type thing? Very curious. The name peaks interest too - are you all inked up and went to CIA and are now a Chef in some high end place? LOL. We all think into these names after all don't we?

Hello Gunny.

The pic in my signature is a pocket knife from a custom knife maker(and one of my skull rings on top of it)

As far as the screen name, I used to be a chef, and yes I have tattoos...hence where I came up with the screen name years ago.

If you are looking for carbon/carbon fiber watches, there are many....but maybe check out this one.

A full carbon case with carbon fiber dial :
