Holland America's 1,380-passenger Amsterdam again will circle the globe in 2012 -- the ship's seventh circumnavigation in 12 years.

The 112-day voyage, announced today, will kick off Jan. 6, 2012 in Fort Lauderdale and include calls in the Caribbean and South America before a trip around Cape Horn to the Chilean Fjords. From there, the vessel will head south to Antarctica and then west to Tahiti, followed by calls in Australia, the Far East and the Indian Ocean. The trip will end with a transit of the Suez Canal and stops in the Mediterranean before the ship returns to South Florida.

Holland America says the Amsterdam will make overnight stops at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia; Hong Kong; Mumbai, India; Barcelona, Spain; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Singapore; and Piraeus (for Athens) in Greece.

Other calls include Belem and Recife in Brazil; Montevideo, Uruguay; Pt. Stanley, Falkland Islands; Easter Island, Chile; Pago Pago, American Samoa; Komodo Island, Indonesia; Lembar, Indonesia; Hong Kong, China; Nha Trang, Vietnam; Phu My, Vietnam; Phuket, Thailand; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Marmagao (Goa), India; Safaga, Egypt; Sharm el Sheik, Egypt; Katakolon, Greece; Messina, Italy; Naples, Italy; Ajaccio, Corsica; and Cadiz (Seville), Spain.

WHY?

It's hot, dirty, dusty, terrible drivers, you can now carry guns without a license or permit concealed even in bars. Where's Doc Holliday?

Heck for vacations I go here...No phones (land or cell), no faxes, no computers, no cell phones, no girlfriends, wives, children.
