I got this Movado almost 25 years ago. Small by today's standards, back then when I got it I thought I was the Shiznit. I fell in love with it when I first saw it. Saved my money and paid full retail (stupid). But I wanted it.

Don't really wear it much anymore but I'd never get rid of it.

It's been through the mill and several straps, but still looks ok.

That is different, it looks vintage and it also looks like is doesn't have a crystal. Very cool the first Movado that I actually like.

My first expensive watch was a Gucci with the green and red dial. I have no idea whatever became of it, but I felt pretty darn cool as a teenager wearing it. I can't even remember what I paid for it. I know that they use to sell knock offs of the one that I owned for under $100. This is the one that I had.  I think it was a 35mm LOL!!

TC . . . thanks for posting this watch. I, too, loved this watch from the first time I saw it. I always wanted to get one, but never spent the $$$. At one point, I seriously considered it, but by then my watch diameter preference excluded it. :(

Toe thanks for showing that very nice piece. Like you I have some older small watches that I have kept. Sentimental.

I purchased this Movado for a few bucks when I worked sales for the local jeweler. A customer had brought it in for service, it was sent out for an estimate, the owner was notified of they repair costs, they never picked it up.

It had been sitting at the jeweler for 5 years before I had stumbled across her. Since it was not functioning, I sent it off to Grover for repair estimate, she needed a new main spring. Per Grover (Martell) the watch in 2004 was appx 70 years of age with a hi grade movement.

I've contacted Movado for information on the watch, they could not have been less helpful.  Several months ago I found this exact watch 4 sale on a famous auction site, I contacted the seller who knew nothing about the watch, it sold for $65.00 not running.

As you can see it's well worn.

As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I like this ole gal a lot.

One of these days I will get a nice shot which I can touch up with Photoshop, in the meantime.

I never wore a watch until my wife bought this for me about 5 years ago. I said, "This is so heavy. It feels like handcuffs". Now, thousands of dollars later, it's the smallest watch I own.

TC - I owned a Movado that looked like that also. Big dot at the 12 and nothing else on the dial but the hands. Was a gift when I was in high school I think. so long ago. those were REALLY nice back in the day.

my other first "expensive watch" was this one - a tiny Gucci that i still have. It is literally TINY!

Great thread and my first nice watch was a Bulova when they were on top. I dont know what happened to it and I am sure it was under 40mm.I have a Movado 800 series and it never leaves my rotation.
