Comcast is showing off a new application at The Cable Show 2010 -- a trade show hosted by the National Cable and Telecommunications Association -- that turns the Apple iPad into a web-based TV remote.
The Xfinity Remote, which Comcast details on their official blog, allows users to search for television shows, movies and video on demand, change channels on a cable box and program DVR recordings remotely.
As Comcast CEO Brian Roberts explains in the demo below, the iPad is paired to a user's cable box similar to how smartphone owners might connect a Bluetooth device.
