Yes, my understanding is that they are leaving ShopNBC because to paraphrase and condense the reason, ShopNBC's prices are so much lower than the retail stores, it is killing off the retailers from carring Chase-Durer.

Also another cause of the pricing on ShopNBC is not making enough profit from watch sales to make it wort Marianne's time and effort.

Chase-Durer's are not in the same catagory as so many of ShopNBC's brands and the company cannot continue to offer their high-end pieces at such a deeply discounted price.

This is my understanding from what was told to me by someone that has spoken directly to Marianne Chase.

Very interesting! I does make perfect sense to me though. You can't keep deep discounting and expect to make money. I also agree that CD is at a level above all the other brands. They got great exposure on SNBC and if I were CD, I would look at the relationship as one big advertising campaign!

That may have been the whole idea behind it.

CD got great exposure, and now with many viewers wearing them, the word-of-mouth advertising, which is the most successful advertising ever, is out there spreading around.

I think the story goes that the Shop was causing the price of Chase Durer to be too low and Marianne wanted to keep her price points a little higher to retain a little more value.  But I think Don could explain it more better.

To be honest, Dont know if I could really explain it any better. No one really knows the deal I guess except for Marianne Chase and ShopNbc.

From what I was told and heard, is that the pricing was way too low at shopnbc and her retail outlets were complaining , because people didnt want to pay the normal prices when they could be had online and at shop so much less. Also I know Marianne at the time was going thru some personal issues at home with her family and such, and didnt have the time to be on air as well to promote the watches, and I dont think she was able to keep up with the Inventory that shop demanded......That is all I know and have heard really. I guess there were some talks about them coming back , but havent heard or seen anything, my guess is, she probably does far better selling on her site and her other retail and online outlets, that probably doesnt make sense to go back to shop just to bottom out her prices........Guess we will just wait and see what happens. Her watches are top notch, nonetheless.

Well, from what I heard months and months ago, though a fly on the wall so to speak, CD could not produce enouch volume of their watches to make volume selling worth it for them. Sure, thier outlets were balking at the lower prices, but if you are always selling enough volume, and giving your outlets the better price breaks, then it is a Win-Win situation for everyone.

I bought 2 CD's from the shop. A Central Command for $199(list $1195) and a Conquest with 2 rubber straps for $124(list $595) before they went off the shop. These prices are with Mr Rebates.
