Throughout the summer months (watch set at DST) all was well. At the time of the recent hour change - Problem 1 - my watch did not revert back to GMT automatically. Problem 2 - Having manually set the watch to 'G' it no longer updates itself, and it will not manually update either. I can cheat and go back to DST zone setting - there it will manually update (no problem) and also if left will auto update (no problem). As soon as I set the time zone to 'G' - updates are a thing of the past. I think I am obviously missing the plot here - where have I gone wrong in my settings? Your thoughts and help would be appreciated. Many thanks Last edited on Thu Nov 22nd, 2012 03:55 pm by Purgatory |

Hi guys, and hoping for an educated answer. I'm English, but live in Spain - just outside Murcia. I recently purchased a Casio Riseman, but the automatic time reset from the atomic clocks in both Paris & Germany don't seem to function. Am I situated outside the range of both?

Most likely though, you are out of range. There are only 6 atomic clocks around the globe: UK, US, Germany, China, 2 in Japan. None in Paris to my understanding. You're best bet is to place your Riseman near the Northern most point in your home to try and sync at night when there is less interference going on. Good Luck.

In the US, 1000 miles or so seems to work. You do need to place it in a window facing either of these locations so it can try at night between midnight and 6 AM.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a try, although I guess that I'm just a tad out of range. I would hope that there's quite a dose of in-built accuracy in the watch anyway, so not getting the automatic time update is little more than a nose bleed, and hardly terminal.Just think, if I hadn't have bothered to idly peruse the instructions, and saw that there was the facility to check the time of the last update, I'd still be in happy ignorance. It just goes to show - never read the instructions, and just wing it.
