i bought this watch today for under 300. this watch looks very nice and its really beautiful. i was wondering how bulova automatic/mechanical stacks up against stuhrling automaticmechanical. i know bulova uses japanese movements which are superior but i am considering getting a stuhrling tourbillon watch and im not sure if it will last a long time or not. im pretty sure my bulova will last years and years but would the stuhrling be worth it? all of 600 bucks?

i have a link to a picture of both watches just for reference.

Avogev,
I think with that bulova, you would be safe. In general, modern Bulova uses Miyota/citizen mechanical and automatic movements . Miyota is one of the best movements you can buy for the least money. they are very robust , and last a long time. They are much like Seiko, very reliable , if you keep them serviced every so often. I have Miyotas that are 20 years old, and never been serviced , and they still run great. I have had Seikos that were older than 30 years, and never needed a servicing. So yes, more than likely , The Bulova will be a good buy.

The Stuhrling may be another matter.
Ill explain. Often you will have people here criticize brands like Stuhrling and Invicta because of poor customer service , or poor quality checking. And i am sure , at times, that attitude is merited. They sell millions of watches every year. And even the best watch companies out there like Omega, will have a few bad watches produced every year. Its all numbers. It happens. It just happens more with Stuhrling and invicta and other big brands. Because the produce tons of watches.
Stuhrling uses a variety of movements . They use swiss, Japanese {both seiko and Miyota}, and chinese movements. If you were to get a Tourbillon , you would get a chinese movement in it. I have heard that they run great ,and are a fraction of the price of a swiss tourbillon. And i have also heard that Stuhrling watches tend to be decent watches.
But basically it comes down to you. What you think that watch is worth. What you are willing to pay for it . I agree , the Tourbillon is the bee's knees , but at 600 bucks, i would really look deeply into the watch first. To me , 600 bucks is a LOT of money for anything. It may not be to some, but to me, Thats a house payment and a car payment.
I would say get the Bulova , maybe think on the Stuhrling before pulling the trigger.
Its my opinion.

I've got the same watch on its way to me. How do you like it after having it for a month? How bright is the lume and accuracy of the movement?
Thx
Philip

You can not go wrong with a Bulova. I still wear mine a few times a week. Never out of style and very reliable.
