From Crepas FB:

"New model CREPAS Watches: CREPAS Cayman 3000, history of the project."

by CREPAS Watches on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2:05 pm ·
.

We are pleased to advance the story of the new Cayman CREPAS 3000.

After the summer of 2011, coinciding with the start of production of the Tektite CREPAS, began planning the new model.

The principles on which it based the plantemiento were two: first, a dive watch extreme, something more than a technical clock saturation and, second, a design that united sportiness with elegance.

This simpre without losing our identity: design based on a previous model incorporating existing and new elements with the previous model.

The result is the new Cayman CREPAS 3000.

The Cayman 3000 is an extremely elegant watch without losing the inherent sportiness to what has been built: polished steel, ceramic sphere and silver needles are just some of their logos.

We used metal fixtures with phosphorescent material in the quarters. The sapphire bezel is flat and inclined; This is the first time I used this type of sapphire, the justification comes from the hand of integrating the sharp bevel glass curvature, and we've got to use despite its difficulty constructive so much so that few trademarks that use it.

With a case size of 43 mm and 44.50 bevel is not a small watch or annoyed by their size. There was, therefore, their extreme comfort.

Looking carefully cayman their genes will dive watch extreme: large sphere of 32 mm diameter with nothing to distract the diver, having removed the ventada fechadora, are oversized needles and reduced timestamps regarding of the 12, 3, 6 and 9.

Integrated bracelet and clasp with extension for wetsuit. We have recovered a type of bracelet that very few houses currently used: the bracelet type "grain of rice". This bracelet, as well as being very comfortable for its small links, is the perfect complement to accompany the cayman, because its design is timeless vintage. It also is accompanied by a second closure butterfly hidden.

The rear features a sapphire crystal decorative, but it is a background seen. It is a solid steel rear in which a recess has been practiced to introduce the sapphire disc printed on its inner surface which has been applied luminova, which makes a great effect.

One of the strengths of the cayman is a spectacular crystal size of 33 mm, 4.60mm thick. This sapphire upward from the horizontal plane 6.90 mm, being therefore a curved glass "super domed".

In short, it is a different clock to what we have made to date, being more simple and elegant, and in which, as always, we have studied and monitored to the last detail.

It is a very careful watch, something you can see in the photographs, but this time it has been extremely difficult to capture in pictures what this model physically transmitted, among other things, by their curved surfaces and glare given off by in most of their areas.

This is so far the most important model that we have done. Represents a new qualitative leap crepes and sets new standards for future projects.

Alright, so definitely not a Doxa homage, but it looks pretty sweet. Almos like an MK. Was that lume on the case back or just a special effect?
