My EcoZillaTi seems to have lost some of its charge (and that would make sense as it has been residing in a watch box for a while).

Anyway, I wanted to charge it back up.  I know I read somewhere that people have put their solar charged watches in a glass of water and then in front of the window to charge them back up.  Is that the best method or should I just set it outside in the sun for a bit?

The watch in question:

Thanks for the help!!!  :)

I would just give it some sun.
How long was it in the box? Just curious as these usually have a pretty good power reserve on them.

Honestly, I didn't think it was that long....but after I think about it it's possible it may have only seen light a few times in the past 5 months. Curiously, my Citizen Orca has been in the same box and is still going strong.

When I bought my first eco drive it was doing the skipping thing for days.

For two days I left it under a lamp to no avail (I was on a cruise and didnt want to loose it).

I decided to take it to the sun and within 5 minutes it was charged enough so that the second hand moved flawlessly...

Moral of the story, take it to the sun man! It'll charge it up very rapidly

Once they lose the charge it takes up to a few days to get it back to full strength. I would just put it by a window with sunlight for a few days.

The window glass, the glass holding water, and the water itself, will exhibit some amount of light absorbtion, as well as refraction. Therefore, its best not to leave it in a glass of water. Whoever said that appears, to me, to be crazy.

To charge mine, when it has stopped.
I will pull the crown out into set mod, which stops the movement , and i place it in a window sill directly in the sun for a few hours. I have also put it on the dashboard of my car a time or two.
After a few mishaps that lead my ecozilla to stop, i keep it on a watch holder i made , on my table by my bed . The light is usually on most of the day, giving the watch just enough charge to maintain the battery levels.

I have mine in a watch box with a glass top, they seem to like that and stay charged just fine.

Casio says not to leave them in direct sunlight for extended periods of time as they get pretty hot when charging. This may be why it was suggested to place the watch in a glass of water?

I used to do that with my solar/atomic G-shock. Setting it in direct sunlight for a long time (especially when I lived in Texas) would make it unbearably hot, which I'm sure is not too good for the internals.

Keeping it in a glass of water makes sense for that reason.

Ya me too, the water seems logical but I had never heard of it until I read it here.
