Jack - i have 2 "OLD PAINTS" both Nissan Pathfinders

great trucks -Run great - both are really old 91 & 94

i know i'm due for an upgrade LOL!!

if i wear in the Market for an SUV i would definitely go Nissan Toyota or Honda (or there upper lines of Infiniti, Lexus & Acura) just plain old reliable and hold market value IMHO

I agree with you George... cant go wrong with any of those...back in 2001 I bought a pathfinder LE first year of the 3.5 motor and loved that suv...I maybe leaning towards the acura but still have to check out the lexus and a few others.

I like all of your choices JP. I'm also an SUV man...Armada and an Explorer, along with an F250 p/u.
I would have to say, for my money, I would rock the Escalade. Of course, I have a problem with liking big and flashy. Like Cj, my ethnicity is showing. :b

Tk I have to say the escalade is my favorite SUV's of all time..as it is my wife's favorite also....Just a bit big here in NY and hard to park and my driveway only has room for 2 cars and the escalade is the length of 2 cars...lol...Dont know if you been to Staten Island recently but parking is a big issue here..over populated..lol...I'm sure George will back me up on that..

We just got a new one a few months ago. Before we did, we looked at the MDX, the RX350, the Q7, and finally the Infiniti FX. My wife originally wanted the Q7 because she's always had Audis and the Quattro is awesome in the CT snow, but I sold her on the FX; it was the best value (and also the fastest- 390 HP!). We also decided that it was the best looker of the bunch.

You really can't go wrong w/any as they are all good at what they do. The Japanese ones are typically more reliable and better on gas. I liked that the FX handled like a sports sedan, too.

Good luck in your choice!

I luv the FX but i am kinda tall...I'm 6'3....How is the size on the inside? FX50 is awesome...love the sound of that suv..I also like the q7 but people are telling me they have electrical problems.

I've owned several Acura vehicles, but not the MDX.

My last 2 cars have been Audi's (A4, A5) and I love them!

If I needed an SUV, I'd get a Q7. I sat in/looked at one while at the dealer getting the A5 and it's an incredible machine!

They (Audis) DO have electrical problems- you don't pay for the service, but you'll definately need it! As for the FX's head room, it's very good in front, but not in back, which is no problem for me as I have only one 5 year old. I'd say its headroom is similar to the MDX's, although overall, you'll probably have more interior space overall with the MDX. I just loved the motor and body style of the FX (and the 21" wheels w/ the big brake kit is HOT), but you can't go wrong with the Acura, either. You seem to be leaning toward the MDX- I say, GO FOR IT- you won't regret it, but do test drive the FX for fun, if you have the time (you won't regret doing that, either, :b).

It wa incredible in the snow- a dedicated set of 18's w/ snow tires is necessary here- I wouldn't want salt on the 21's, plus the profile on the summer setup is way too low. The AWD system worked great, though; it has a "snow" button to keep it 40/60 instead of RWD with the fronts kicking in when slippage is detected (normal mode). It has a nice clearance (probably 10" in front) and felt very secure and solid. It was also impressive last night in the high winds on the highway with heavy rains. Many cars were hydroplaning and slowing down, but the FX cuts right through the wind and the tires didn't lose traction at all. My wife drives this car daily, but I do when we're out as a family, and I'm constantly impressed by it, making me so happy about the decision to get one. My wife loves it, too- it took her a few days to get used to the bulging fenders, but I think it makes it easier to see the clearance in front, where on some other cars, you have to guess. Also, the birdeye view parking aid is fun, even though most of us can parallel park w/no problem. The backup camera is helpful (most have this feature now, along w/hands free bluetooth), and the push-button start never gets old.

Do yourself a favor and sign out your top 2 or 3 for a 1/2 day each. I did this several times and it really gives you a feeling for the car. I did this for my 1st MDX (was between a Land Rover and the MDX. It totally made my mind up for me!

That would be the ultimate test drive. It looks like you can fit snowboards on that bad boy just fine. Add a Thule cargo box and your set.
Don't get the Thule from the Acura Dealer! I got an XL version from a Thule dealer and saved about $500.

I only have a 15yr old Toyota 4-runner that will not die.

Still like it though.

Right now I'm driving a Toyota - Yaris  :%

I know, I know, It's a puddlejumper.

But I paid cash. And it only costs $40 a month to run.

Used to spend that a week with the 4-runner.

Besides "the chicks dig it"
