The most amazing sights you've seen - Mine are a little different -

About 200 different times when I lived in NYC. Everything about "The City" amazed me and I loved every view/angle of it.

Blue Man Group the first night and first show they opened at the Venetian in Las Vegas when they moved to their new theater

My first trip to the old Boston Garden in 1985 or 86 when I was younger. Got to see Larry Bird play in his prime

When my son and daughter were born.

And ... every time I see my wife naked.

WOW

I don't know where to begin....

I'll start on the east coast

1)The Reversing Falls are a series of rapids on the Saint John River located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, where the river runs through a narrow gorge before emptying into the Bay of Fundy.
2) Whale watching off the coast of Cape Cod at Provincetown, Mass.
3) Yankee Stadium (the old stadium) with 55,000+ and beating the Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth.
4) Watching the sun rise on the beach at the Outer Banks.
5) Deep Sea fishing off Myrtle Beach SC

I'll move west in another post.

This is a great thread.

1. The birth of my kids.
2. A view of Paris from a friends balcony.
3 the sight of a coho as she caight sight of, and attacked my pink and white fly.
4. Many views in the scottish highlands, but maybe the view of Edinburg from arthurs seat.
5. The view of the deep blue ocean, on a sunny day.

Man, I think 5 is way too few, i could go on forever. Once, i saw a woman wearing black and whote checkers in front of a brick wall. Was so amazing, that i wanted a camera. Will never forget it.

In no particular order:

The evening sun bouncing off whatever river or stream I happen to be standing in while fishing for trout.

The sea, cliffs, and villages of the Cinque Terre on the Italian Ligurian coast.

The city of Rome, Italy from the surrounding hills.

Desert sunsets.

My Wife, kids, and all that sentimental stuff.

And, oh yes, the night sky anywhere you can get away from the city lights.

In no particular order:
  1. The birth of my two sons.
  2. Sunrise over Mount Equinox in Vermont
  3. Sunset over the Iraq/Iran border in Kurdistan.
  4. A C-130 Spooky gunship lighting up a insurgent encampment from less than 500 meters away (4th of July neve4r seems very impressive anymore).
  5. Snorkeling at Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman.
  6. New York City at night from the window of a C-17 as I came home from Iraq after my first 13 month deployment.
These are the ones that stand out the most in my mind right now.

- The birth of my first and second daughters

- The Itaipu Dam in Paraguay

- Close Air Support (CAS) from a British GR-7, B1-B, two A-10 Thunderbolts and two AH-64s, all at the same time on two enemy positions during a long firefight. It seems that the pilots were not heavily employed that morning and when we called out for Emergency CAS, they all just showed up overhead. Needless to say, there was not much opposition left after it was all said and done.

:)

Edited to add this: "Ganson", I just saw/read your post right above mine. Too weird in how similar they were. I did not even read yours before I posted mine. Really weird. LOL.

There are very few things more impressive than seeing CAS first hand. I figured you would have your own experience to chime in with.

2.  The mountains of Bavaria, Germany.

3.  Sunrise in VA Beach.

4.  Sunset in Key West.

5.  Colorado - all of it.

6.  Vietnam Memorial - incredibly moving.

7.  1981 World Series Game in Yankee Stadium.

View from Haleakala on Maui
Swimming with dolphins on Kauai
Spring Break in Palm Springs
Spring break in Mazatlan
Playing PGA West Stadium golf course at the time had the toughest course rating in the US
Many sights on the water over the years but one that I will never forget is a grey whale jumping completely out of the water.

Couple off the top of my head.

Sunrise on Daytona Beach, with a storm brewing over the ocean. Beach was empty and me and my stepbrother at the time sat on the beach drinking coffee. It was a beautiful site.

My view of the beach from my hotel room in Ocean City Maryland. Was gorgeous.

Times Square in NYC. Just always cool.

Watching a girl get her private area pierced. (yep, dirty, but was a sight to see!).

Shawn Michaels winning the world heavyweight championship at Madison Square Garden.

I know there is more, but those were off the top of my head.

The first time I laid eyes on my wife.

Seeing my first grandson. (Step-grandson actually) when he was only 10 hours old, in Arizona.

Hawaii. Did a year there, beautiful.

Driving though New Mexico on my way to Arizona. The red bluffs and red skies are amazing.
